34: Crazy Talk & The High Preistess

"You guys spilt up amongst yourselves, I know this island better than anyone, so I'll go ahead by myself," Avdol says walking away. You all watch as he disappears into the jungle of plants.

"I'll go with Mr. Joestar," Kakyoin says too quickly. You glance at him and he gives you a thumbs up and a sly wink.

'The bastard... he did this on purpose.' 

You blush and start to mouth 'No' while slightly shaking your head, too embarrassed to be alone with Jotaro now that it was clear you had feelings for him. Kakyoin only smiles at you and he and Joseph walk away as you begin to sweat from nervousness.

'Damn it! I'll get you for this Kakyoin...'

"Let's get going," Jotaro says looking down at you. You instantly stiffen and laugh nervously.

"O-Okay, but we won't have to do much searching. Avdol is gonna find him first and they're gonna defeat a stand user," you say casually. Jotaro is not fazed by the mention of an enemy and he hums in understanding. You both just stand there in quiet and you begin to make things awkward by just you being you. "Um, we can just wait by the boat if you want, there's no point in searching."

"Alright," Jotaro says. You start to walk in the direction of the boat and try to escape Jotaro discreetly. He manages to keep up with you as you make it to the shore where the boat was. You sit down on the sand and gaze out at the sea. "Why are you so quiet?" Jotaro asks bruskly.

"I don't mean to be... why don't you join me down here?" You say patting the sand next to you. Jotaro hesitates for a moment, but he gives in and sits down close to you. You blush and ignore the closeness.

'What the hell do I do now? I was able to talk to him just fine before... PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER Y/N! Just talk about something he likes, you know that much at least!'

You clear your throat and try to think of something he likes, there wasn't a lot, but there were a few things you could conjure up. "Sooo, uh.... ocean, you like?" What you meant to say was 'Do you like the ocean?' But you were so nervous you couldn't keep it together.

"I know you can speak all languages, but try talking to me in a language I can understand," Jotaro jokes. You blush from embarrassment and push the hair out of your face.

"Um, sorry. Do you like the ocean?" You let out a deep breath. 'Alright, better. Keep it going.'

"Yeah, I do," he says gazing out at the beautiful blue water. After a good minute of quietness, he returns the same question, "Do you?"

"I think it's pretty to look at, but I actually have a fear of water... not the water itself, but what lies within it to be more accurate," you say pulling your legs into your chest.

Jotaro hums and it's quiet once more. You watch as the boat gently sways with the waves and you're somewhat calmed by the peaceful feeling and sound of the water crashing onto the shore. It was getting rather dark and you take the chance to look up at the sky again.

"Beautiful," you whisper to yourself, trying to look for constellations in the stars. At this moment you felt things were going right, and you couldn't feel more safe and sure than this time.

"What is?" Jotaro asks leaning back on his arms while also leaning closer to you. You flush and his voice sends a shiver down your spine.

"The sky. The stars. They're beautiful," you say in a daze leaning to catch a glimpse of all the sky. You accidentally lean too far back and you bump into Jotaro's arm. You quickly move yourself and accidentally touch his hand in the process of scooting away from him. "S-Sorry."
