Papers and equipment for the construction of the submarine were scattered all over the tables in Charlotte and Ed's library. They had also made a miniature of the sub to see how it would be like in the end. However, things had turned out to be harder than they originally thought it would be. The fact that the couple had to do everything alone wasn't helping either. Instead of assisting them Oswald would be out all the time. Then there was also the feeling that they were constantly being watched.

"Ugh, this is taking too long," Ed took off his glasses to rub his eyes tiredly.

Charlotte walked around the table to join his side and took his hand in hers. "Hey, look at me, Ed". He looked at her and his expression softened. She rested her other hand on his cheek and caressed it with her thumb. "Don't worry, this is just like any other puzzle. We need to figure out where the right pieces connect. This puzzle will just take a little longer to solve, that's all".

"I know," Ed agreed with a sigh as he leaned his forehead against hers. "I just want to marry you".

"And you will," Charlotte smiled at him. "Now kiss me".

Ed smiled in return. "With pleasure". And soon after Ed had Charlotte sat on top of the table with her legs spread so he could place himself in between them. They kissed as Charlotte ran her hands through his hair, which she had recently cut shorter as it used to be.

"Maybe we should take a break from the submarine," Charlotte suggested after pulling away from the kiss. She grabbed her gun which was on top of the table beside Ed's. "Help me with my aim. I need it to get back to what it used to be".

Ed nodded, understanding her frustrating to not being able to hold a gun properly after her arm was broken. He got her down from the table and placed himself behind her. She raised her arm and pointed the gun at the door. It still shook, not as bad as it used to, but it still made her frustrated. She thought she needed to get back to what she used to be because there had been someone watching them. That's the reason why they had installed a bell mechanism that would warn them in case someone got too close to the door.

Ed placed his hand over hers and helped focus her aim. Feeling him so close to her, helped Charlotte calm down considerably and so her aim wasn't as shaky. Ed let go of her hand and watched as she managed to keep it a little steadier this time.

"There you go," Ed congratulated her and she smiled at that little accomplishment. She felt more confident that she would get better soon. She just needed to keep trying.

"Couldn't do it without you," Charlotte pecked Ed's lips and he smiled.

"Yes, you could," Ed contradicted and chuckled at her, "but it probably wouldn't be the same thing". They both laughed together and Charlotte kept trying to regain her aim. Every time she tried it, it was a little better.

But all that was interrupted when their bell mechanism went off and warned them of an intruder. Ed got his own gun from the table and together they pointed their weapons at the door only to see Oswald open it.

"You were due hours ago," Ed reminded him in pure annoyance.

Oswald walked in followed by an unknown man with a tray in hand. "Yes, I was. But I had to get us lunch. And I met Dale".

"I see that," Ed said frustratedly and pointed towards his and Charlotte's work on the submarine. "Do you see this? Our secret plan to get off this island".

But Oswald wasn't worried in the slightest. "Relax. Dale is completely trustworthy".

"How do you know we can trust him if you just met him?" Ed eyed the large man behind Oswald suspiciously. Dale looked confused at his new boss and was still holding the tray in his hands.
