3 - Girls Talk

After dinner the Althea, Almira, Lauren, Rorie and Carrie choose to spend their night with their Ate Althea as they misses the eldest grandchild of the Monteiro family.  This is how they usually are specially when they pay her a visit in Italy.

"Are you really staying for good, Ate Althea?" Almira asked.

"Yes,  I am.  Therefore I can help Mommy Laura and Mama Allie for your 18th birthday celebration next month." Althea replied.

"I don't want a grand debut party, Ate.  I want to celebrate my birthday just how you celebrated yours." Almira replied.  "I would prefer to celebrate it through charity works.  I'm sure, Mamita will be happy if I do that." She added.

"Charity works is good, Ate Almira but in my case I would like to have a grand party where I can dance the cotillion and have my 18 roses." Lauren, her sixteen year-old sibling uttered.

"You still have more than a year for your debut, Lauren.  There's still a chance to change you mind." Almira commented.

"I don't think I'll change my mind, Ate Almira." Lauren replied.

"So as dapat palang yung debut ni Lauren ang umpisahan na nating i-plan since Ate Almira prefers to celebrate her debut through charity works." Althea said.

"I would like to have a grand party for my dbut, too, Ate Althea." Rorie said.

"Me, too." The 14 year old Carrie seconded.

"And Kuya Thirdy will be my escort." Lauren bragged.

"But you have other male friends, Ate Lauren.  Why do you want Ate Althea's boyfriend to be your escort?" Carrie asked.

Althea is not suprise at what Carrie have uttered because among her siblings, Carrie is the one who have not given up on Thirdy and her.  "Carrie, how many times will I tell you about my break-up with Thirdy?" she asked.

"I still don't accept that you and Kuya Thirdy already broke-up because you are still in-love with each other." Carrie said.

"What made you say that.  I already introduced Harold to you last Christmas." Althea said.

"Yes you did, but when you were with Harold, I could not see the glow in your eyes the same as to whenever you were with Kuya Thirdy." Carrie replied.

"Can we not talk about Thirdy?  Harold is my boyfriend now.  Ask me anything about Harold, girls.  I promise to tell you everything you want to know." Althea said.

"Antok na ako, Ate.  Tulog na tayo." Almira said, showing disinterest in the topic Althea have open up.

"Yeah, I'm sleepy na rin, Ate Althea." Lauren seconded.

"I have a question about Harold, Ate Althea." Carrie then said.

"Stop it Carmela Marie. Matulog na tayo." Lauren said and laid on bed.

"But Ate Althea promised to answer all question about Harold." Carrie protested.

"Yes I will, Carrie.  What do you want to know about Harold?" Althea said.

"When are you breaking up with him?" Carrie asked while Lauren and Almira immediately got up.  

Althea smiles as she could not deny her sister's loyalty to their Kuya Thirdy as the latter has been her sisters' apple of the eyes. "Why am I not suprise with that question?" She asked herself.

"I also want to know Ate, when are you breaking with Harold?" Lauren asked.

"Grabe naman kayo, six months ko pa lang boyfriend si Harold, break na agad yang sinasabi nyo. Can't you not give him a chance?" Althea said but she is more surprise to herself as she was not offended at her sister's query.
