17 - Someone To Talk To

Upon reaching home Althea excitedly gets inside the house. She misses her siblings so much not to mention her Daddy Victor and Mommy Laura, plus the whole family of Dad Daniel and Mama Allie.

But to her dismay, it is only her Mommy Laura who is at home when she arrived. Only then she realized that her siblings are already in school and her Daddy Victor at work. Laura is all smiles when she sees the eldest Monteiro granddaughter back from Cebu. "Welcome back, Baby." Laura greeted her.

Althea runs to her and immediately hugs her tightly. "I missed you Mommy," She said.

"Ohh, I missed you too, Baby. How's the convention?" Laura asked.

"I learned a lot of things. It is actually not boring as how I heard it is. By the way, Mommy may padala si Tita Dei na danggit for all of us. Also otap and dried mangoes" Althea said.

"Very thoughtful talaga ang Mommy ni Thirdy. I'll just send her a message later to thank her. Are you hungry?" Laura asked.

"I'm fine Mommy, kaya ko pang maghintay until lunch time." Althea said.

"Okay, magpahinga ka na lang muna, then I'll call you kapag ready na ang lunch. It will just be the two of us today, since everyone is in school." Laura said.

"Pwede kaya akong pumunta sa MGOC after lunch? I just want to see Tita Alice, may pasalubong ako sa kanya eh." Althea said.

"Wala si Tita Alice mo, nasa Munich kasama ang Daddy Victor mo. They left two days ago." Laura said.

"What? How come I did not know that?" Althea asked.

"It was an abrupt trip. May problema yata sa expansion sa Munich." Laura replied.

"Anong ginagawa ng Area Manager, bakit si Daddy pa ang kailangang pumunta sa Munich?" Althea asked.

"Why don't you ask Harold, sya ang Area Manager sa Italy, Germany and Switzerland di ba?" Laura meaningfully uttered.

"I will really ask him, Mommy. This is the job of AMs." Althea said.

"Just don't be harsh on him, baka naman kasi dahilan lang ito ng Daddy mo para makapag-side trip sa Santa Margherita." Laura said.

Althea releases a sigh and uttered, "I missed Mamita."

"I missed her, too." Laura uttered.

"I'll go and change muna, Mommy. I also need to call Harold." Althea said.

"Hindi ba parang masyado pang maaga para tawagan mo si Harold? Malamang tulog pa yun, mukhang sobrang miss mo ang boyfriend mo ah." Laura said.

"Oh, I forgot the seven hours time difference. Nagulat kasi ako na nag byahe si Daddy at Tita Alice sa Munich." Althea said.

"Baby, please wag mong papagalitan si Harold because of this abrupt trip of your, Daddy Victor. Kawawa naman kung papagalitan na ng dadsy mo, tapos pati ikaw pagsasabihan mo pa rin." Laura uttered.

"Okay po, Mommy." Althea replied and chooses not to mention to her Mom about her plan of talking to Harold. "Sana pala ako na lang ang nagpunta sa Munich." She softly said but Laura where able to hear it.

"You really missed him. I'm sure he missed you, too." Laura said.

"Mommy, in my entire stay in Cebu, there was not a time that he did not call, minsan nga kahit in the middle of the convention he checks on me." Althea said.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Laura asked.

"What do you mean po?" Althea asked.

"I don't know. Let's just say that I don't see your usual excitement each time you complain about Harold's clinginess." Laura replied. "Wala pa kayong two weeks magkalayo but it seems irritated ka na agad sa clinginess ng boyfriend mo."
