23 - Date Night

Thirdy is smiling in front of the mirror while reminiscing the first time he and Althea went out on a date. He even remembers how his knees shaken when he asked permission from Victor to allow Althea to go on a date with him.

A romantic dinner was what on his mind when he invited Althea for a date but it was a surprised when Victor laid his rules before he allowed Althea to go on a date with him. The chaperon was expected but he was surprised when the MGOC President told him that the mall was the only place he allowed them to go. Good thing there was an art exhibit in one of the mall near their village and he knew how Althea loves art works as she is a good artist, too.

That was before, now is different as he does not have to ask permission from Victor for Althea to go on a date with him, though just the thought of dating Althea, his feeling is the same as the first time. He still could not decide what to wear. He lost count on how many times he checks on the place where he and Althea will have their dinner.

"Uncle Thirdy, are you there?" he heard his nephew knocks.

Luke is standing at his doorsteps when he opens the door holding a book. "What do you want, Luke?" he asked.

"Where will I put this lechon Cebu. Sabi ni Mommy, pinabili mo raw." Luke said and handed him the book. "Aalis ka, Uncle Thirdy?" the young man asked.

"Yes, tell your, Mom I cannot join you guys for dinner. And don't forget to thank her in mybehalf for this lechon Cebu." Thirdy replied.

"You have a date?" Luke excitedly asked. "Are you going out with Ate Althea?"

"What made you say that?" Thirdy asked in reply.

"You are wearing her favorite perfume. And you are bringing her, her favorite food." Luke replied.

"Who told you that?" Thirdy asked. "I don't remember telling you that details." Thirdy said.

"I heard you when you were telling Mom about it." Luke replied. "Kayo na ba ulit, Uncle?" he asked.

"Not yet but I will stop until I get her back." Thirdy replied.

"Goodluck then, Uncle." Luke said.

"Goodluck ka dyan, get yourself ready at siguradong mamaya darating na ang sundo mo. Tell your Mom na next week na lang ako uuwi sa Urdaneta." Thirdy said.

Meantime, Althea is ready for her dinner date with Thirdy few minutes before seven in the evening. She waits for Thirdy at the lanai when Laura arrived. "Are you not joining us for dinner?" Laura asked while she walks towards the lanai.

"I hope you don't mind, Mommy. Thirdy invited me for a dinner tonight." Althea said.

"You know I won't mind if you go out sometimes. You look so excited and this is the first time I see sparks in your eyes since you return from Italy. I am very happy to see you happy, Baby." Laura uttered.

"Hala, obvious ba ako masyado, Mommy?" Althea asked.

"For someone who knows you very well, my answer is yes." Laura said.

"OmG, baka mahalata ni Thirdy, nakakahiya." Althea said.

"You are in your mid twenties but I can still see my teenager Althea. The aura I see on you now is the same aura when you were still with Thirdy. Happiness radiates in you, Baby. But you have to remember that you still have pending issue with Harold." Laura said.

"I know, Mommy. Actually when I learned that he will fly to Manila with Daddy next week, naiinis talaga ako, kasi di ba nakikipag-break na ako sa kanya eh, itinuloy pa rin nya yung transfer nya dito sa Manila. But I guess mas maganda na rin na pumunta na sya ng Manila para personal na kaming mag-usap tungkol s aming dalawa." Althea said.
