38 - Things That He Can't

Thirdy holds the steering wheel really tight while driving back Nuvali as the scene he saw in Monteiro Mansion keeps on repeating in his mind. He was not expecting to see Harold with Althea in the Mansion after the latter agreed to reconcile with him. He thought the drama will only be in MGOC office but obviously he was wrong.

He promised Althea his support for the on-going investigation with Harold and that includes the drama of Althea not breaking-up with Harold. But with just a mere thought of Althea and Harold holding hands, he could hardly breathe already much more when he actually sees them kissing with his own two eyes. He keeps on reminding himself that actions such as that could not be avoided as it is part of the drama, but he could not control himself to get hurt still.

His phone continues to vibrate for a call from Althea. By this time he is certain that Althea already knows he sees her and Harold getting intimate. He wants to take her call but prefers not to as he is certain he could not stop himself saying things that he will regret after.

"Mommy, Thirdy is not answering my call." Althea said while tears streaming down her face.

"Maybe he is driving." Laura said. "Give him some space for a while. I'm sure nabigla yun sa nakita nya, in case nakita nga nya kayo ni Harold kanina." She added to calm Althea.

"I know he saw us, Mommy. He will not behave like this if he does not." Althea uttered.

"Hayaan mo na lang muna si Thirdy, Baby. Mamaya lang kapag malinaw na ang isip nya, siguradong sya na mismo ang tatawag sa iyo." Laura said. "Let's give this night to Mamita, Baby. It's been a long time since the last time we dine with her." She added.

"But, Mommy, what if magalit si Thirdy sa akin. I have to explain and tell him na kahit ako nagulat sa ginawa ni Harold kanina." Althea said.

"He will never be mad at you Althea, though based on how he behaves now, he was really hurt. But I am very certain that once he clears his mind, everything will be all right. Just trust his love for you, Baby."

"Gusto ko na talagang matapos ang issue na ito, Mommy. I want Thirdy and I to move freely." Althea said.

"This will end very soon, Baby, the board choose to do it your way. Dinaig mo nga ang dalawang Daddy mo." Laura commented.

"But how can we execute the plan kung ganitong nagagalit si Thirdy sa akin." Althea said.

"On the contrary, Baby, I think what happened is a blessing in disguise." Laura commented.

"I don't get it, Mommy," Althea uttered.

"With what happened, I'm sure Thirdy will work double time to help you end this issue with Harold. Remember, he knows once this issue ends, Harold can no longer come near you." Laura explained.

"I hope it happen, Mommy,"Althea uttered.

"Wala pa ba ang bisita mo Althea kaya naghihintay ka dyan sa veranda?" They heard someone said.

"Thirdy is not coming, Mamita." Althea sadly replied.

"I thought he accepted the invitation," Mamita uttered.

"He did, and he was here a while ago." Althea replied.

"Where is he then?" Mamita asked.

"I think it will make you feel better if you tell your Mamita what happened earlier." Laura said. "I'll go and check if the dinner is ready." She added and leaves Aurora and Althea alone in the veranda.

"Tell me what happen, Baby," Mamita said while stroking Althea's hair.

"Thirdy saw Harold and me kissing." Althea sadly said. "But I did not know Harold will do that, Mamita, I swear." She added.
