30 - Magic Word

Thirdy drives Althea home after the latter attended his sister's birthday celebration. Despite Althea's objection on Thirdy's offer to bring her home, he still insisted to do it for her.

"Did you enjoy the party?" Thirdy asked while his eyes are on the road and hands on the steering wheel.

"I did, I'm glad to see Tita Dei and Tito Richard again. At nakakatuwa na hindi naman ako ang may birthday pero ang dami ko ring nakuhang regalo galing sa parents mo." Althea replied.

"Automatic nang maraming pasalubong si Mommy sa iyo. Botong-boto yun sa iyo eh." Thirdy said when Althea's phone suddenly rings and she just ignores it. "Bakit ayaw mong sagutin?" he asked.

"Si Harold lang naman." Althea said.

"What kind of girlfriend are you? Do you know that it is impolite to drop a call from your boyfriend?" Thirdy kidded.

"Ganon ba? Don't worry, next time na tumawag sya ulit, siguradong sasagutin ko na." Althea replied when her phone rings again with Harold's name on the caller ID.

"Uy nagbibiro lang ako kanina, hayaan mo na yang mokong na yan. He is so annoying. He is not even your boyfriend to call you." Thirdy said.

"I thought it is impolite to drop a call from my boyfriend?" Althea sarcastically said then Thirdy quickly grabs the phone from Althea. "Huy, akina na nga yang phone ko," she said.

"Bawiin mo muna yung sinabi mo." Thirdy said.

"Anong sinabi ko? Ang dami kong sinabi, alin dun?" Althea asked.

"Yung sinabi mong boyfriend mo si Harold." Thirdy replied.

"Technically, Harold is still my boyfriend. Cool off lang naman kami eh." Althea said.

"Opppsss, wrong answer." Thirdy said.

"Akina na yang phone ko. I have to put it on silent mode. Harold will not stop calling me until I pick up his call." Althea said.

"Oh yeah, eh di sagutin para tumigil na sa pagtawag." Thirdy said.

"Huy, what are you doing?" Althea asked.

"Sasagutin ko yung tawag ng boyfriend mo." Thirdy replied.

"Tumigil ka na nga sa kalokohan. Ano ka ba, Thirdy, nagmamaneho ka oh. Madidisgrasya pa tayo dyan sa kalokohan mo eh." Althea exclaimed.

"Naka stop tayo, paanong madidisgrasya?" Thirdy said and Althea tried hard to grab her phone from Thirdy but it is too late because Thirdy already hit the answer button. "Hello, Harold? Yeah, this is Thirdy and yes, you are calling Althea's phone .... Her phone keeps on ringing that was why I answered it ... Althea is not here with me, she is with my Mom right now ... what do you want me to tell her? .... Okay, I'll tell her you called.... Bye." Thirdy said and hangs up.

"How dare you answer that call?" Althea complained.

"Tawagan mo daw sya kapag nakauwi ka na." Thirdy said and gave back to Althea her phone.

"Don't do that again," Althea said.

"If you only say the magic word, hindi ko sana ginawa yun." Thirdy said.

"What magic word are you talking about?" Althea asked.

"Harold is not your boyfriend!" Thirdy said.

"But technically, he still is my boyfriend." Althea said and Thirdy just choose not to say anything anymore. "O bakit natahimik ka?" she asked.

"Binalik ko na yung phone, bakit hindi mo pa tawagan yung boyfriend mo? Baka sabihin nun hindi ko sinabi sa iyo na tumawag sya." Thirdy replied.
