37 - Board Decision

The day of the strategic plan presentation to the board came. As expected Althea is the one more nervous than her Daddy Victor. She feels that once the drafted stratergic plan got a nod from the board of director's it will be an added feather in her hat. It is something that she could claim as her own doing without the help of the two gentlemen holding the highest position in MGOC.

"You look so stressed, will you please relax." Alice commented on Althea when she sees her in her office looking a somewhere she does know.

"Kinakabahan kasi ako Tita Alice." Althea said.

"Bakit ka naman kakabahan, bukod sa Daddy Victor mo, present din si Dad Daniel. And not to mention, Madam Chairman herself flew from Italy to Manila to support your strategic plan." Alice said.

"That is the exact reason bakit ako kinakabahan, nandun si Mamita. I am not expecting her to fly back in Manila just for this." Althea said.

"She is just so proud of you. That is why she could no longer wait to brag on your accomplishment. Not only her, kami din lahat dito sa executive offices, sobrang proud sa aming future lady president," Alice said.

"Thank you, Tita Alice, pero matagal pa yang sinasabi mo about me holding the presidency. Etong strategic plan pa nga lang hirap na ako, what more yung iba pa. I don't think I am ready to take that position, nakakatakot." Althea said.

"You're Daddy Victor assumed the position almost at the same age as yours. Wala pa syang training katulad ng ginawa sa iyo. He assumed the position empty handed. Look at him now, kinaya naman nya di ba? Sana lang hindi pa ako retired kapag ikaw na ang MGOC president. Being the executive assistant and secretary of the three generations of Monteiro is such a big achievement. That is something to be proud of. Kaya sige na palitan mo na ang Daddy mo," Alice uttered.

"Ikaw talaga, Tita Alice, puro ka biro." Althea said.

"I just want you to feel better. Mukhang sobrang tense ka kasi eh" Alice said. "But I am serious about you replacing your Dad as MGOC President." Alice also whispered.

"Who would not feel stress? The President is presenting a strategic plan with a budget 300% more than the previous stratplan. Sabi nga ni Dad Daniel, yun na daw ang pinakamataas na budget para sa implementation ng strategic plan." Althea uttered.

"That is the most expensive but most refreshing, too. When I was doing the slides for the presentation, sobra akong excited sa implementation. That will be a major change for MGOC. Think positive, Althea Marie, siguradong as soon as the door of the boardroom opens, siguradong good news ang dala ng mga Daddies mo." Alice said.

"Finger's crossed, Tita Alice," Althea said.

"Finger's crossed, future Madam President," Alice replied.

"Shhh ... baka may makarining sa iyo, Tita" Althea commented, chuckling.

"Knock, knock" they heard someone uttered from the door.

"Harold, what are you doing here? Isn't it you are schedule to visit our branches in Caloocan area today?" Alice asked.

"Yes Ms. Alice I just dropped by to see Althea. Will you please excuse us for a while?" Althea said.

"All right, but please make sure not to take long. You should not create a bad impression to your subordinate by making them wait." Alice meaningfully said.

"I will make sure to remember that, Ms. Alice." Thirdy said before Alice stepped out of Althea's office.

"Do you need anything, Harold? You are supposed to be in EDSA now going to Caloocan," Althea uttered then started to thinkerher laptop.
