39 - Almost Over

Althea is talking to Vino in the IT Department when she hears someone shouting at the Sales Division Office. She immediately went there to check and asked the Sales Team what is going on.

"What is happening? I heard someone is shouting." Althea asked one of the secretaries in the secretaries' pool.

"Pinapagalitan po ni Sir Harold si Lyn kasi nasira po yata yung laptop nya eh may kailangang po yatang file si Sir Harold." One of the secretary replied.

Althea immediately walks towards Harold's office and found him reprimanding his sobbing secretary. "Harold, what is happening? Why are you shouting at Lyn? I can hear you from the IT Room." Althea replied.

"This girl is very inefficient, Althea. I want her fired." Harold fiercely said.

"You have to tell me first why I should fire her." Althea said.

"Since this morning, I already instructed her to call the technician to check on my laptop. It got busted last night. But it is already three in the afternoon and no one have arrived yet." Harold explained.

"Did you not report the problem to our IT Department?" Althea asked.

"I did, Ms. Althea. I also file a service ticket for Sir Harold's complain. But he brought his laptop with him when he went out for a branch visit. The technician was not able to check his laptop because it was with Sir Harold when he arrived." Lyn explained.

"Okay, can you please excuse us for a while, Lyn. Ako na ang bahala." Althea said then she quickly closed the door as soon as Lyn left.

"What is the matter with you, Harold? You don't treat the secretaries like your slave. How dare you shout at them were infact it was your fault." Althea said.

"So it's my fault now. It's my fault that you have an inefficient IT team?"Harold asked.

"You are not the only one they are serving in this company. It was part of your orientation when they told you that you should file an issue ticket so IT team could evaluate your concern to effectively serve you. You said that your laptop was broken since last night. Therefore, why did you bring it with you when you go on branch visits?" Althea asked.

"I have confidential files in my laptop. I want them to fix it in my presence." Harold replied.

"Okay I understand the confidentiality. But shouting at your subordinate gives you a very bad impression from the other employees." Althea said. Then she quickly dials a local number to request for an IT technician immediately. "I hate it everytime you act like a spoiled brat." She commented and Harold just got mum about it.

Few minutes later, a technician knocks at the door. "Can you please check on Harold's laptop? He said it isn't working since last night." Althea said and the technician immediately checked on Harold's laptop.

"I think your laptop was infected by a virus." The technician said.

"How can that be, I only use it here and at home. Three days ago your team performed a preventive maintenance, maybe the virus came from you, Guys," Harold said.

"But we did not receive any complain after we perform the preventive maintenance, Sir. Perhaps you opened a link that became the gateway of the virus to your laptop. I have to pull-out your laptop and fix it in the IT room, Sir. But don't worry we will provide you with a service unit." The technician said.

"No, my laptop contains confidential files. If you have to fix it then fix it here in my office." Harold said.

"Harold, all IT personnel signed a non disclosure agreement. Therefore your fear about the confidentialy of your files in your laptop is invalid." Althea said.
