15 - After Last Night

A phone ringing wakes up Althea the next day. She tries to read the phone on the bedside table while her eyes are still closed. "Hello." She answered.

"Wake up call from the lobby, Ms. Monteiro." She heard someone speaks from the other line.

"Yes ,thank you." She replied and hangs up then checks on the time.

She closed her eyes again thinking that an additional five minutes in bed before she prepares herself for her flight back to Manila will not a be a big deal since the wake up call came in an three hours before her actual flight. Then abruptly she widely opens her eyes as she realized she did not request for a wake-up call in the lobby.

Well, she was supposed to do that but she was not able to as she forgot because of the acquaintance party. Then suddenly she quickly gets up recalling what had happen the previous night. Her palms cover her face when she realized that she is naked and alone in her room.

She feels the bodyaches warranting that Thirdy was with her last night. The blood stains in the sheets justifies that she and Thirdy did what they were not supposed to do. And she felt a pinch in her chest thinking that Thirdy just leave her alone without saying anything.

Again the phone rings, "Ms Monteiro, your ride going to the airport will be ready in thirty minutes." The hotel receptionist said.

"I did not arrange for my ride." She said.

"Si Sir thirdy po ang nag-arrange." The hotel staff informed her.

"Okay, thank you." She said before she hangs up.

Despite the pain she feels all over her body special the sore feeling down. She still manages to prepare herself to leave Cebu City. She checks-out thirty minutes after, she looks around hoping her eyes to catch the man she was with the previous night.

"The breakfast buffet is still close, but you still may have your breakfast at the restaurant, Ms. Monteiro. Nagpa-prepare po si Sir Thirdy ng breakfast for you." The receptionist said.

"Okay, please help me with my luggage." She said.

"We will take care of it Ms. Monteiro. Ipapalagay ko na po sa kotse while you have your breakfast." The receptionist said.

After thanking the receptionist she immediately proceeds to the restaurant where very few guests are. "This way to your table, Ms. Monteiro." One of the servers said and leads her to the table reserved for her. She got stunned seeing that the table is set only for one American breakfast. She is expecting Thirdy to her for breakfast before she goes back to Manila.

"Excuse me, according to the receptionist, si Thirdy ang nagpa-prepare ng breakfast ko. Where is he?" Althea asked the server.

"Umalis na po, kasama si Ms. Rebecca pagkatapos nyang magpahanda ng breakfast nyo." The server replied.

Tears started to from in her eyes but she suppressed them from falling. After what happen last night, she could not believe that Thirdy will let her go just that. "He did not even say goodbye." She told her self while sipping on her coffee. But what would she expect? The fact that Thirdy left with Rebecca, letting her have her breakfast alone and leaves without saying their goodbyes at least. She took her phone to send Thirdy as message but eventually erases it and leaves things as if nothing special had happened to them.

It is more than two hours before her flight but she decided not to finish her breakfast and immediately leave Royalties as soon as she can. She told herself that maybe it is better for Thirdy and her not to meet yet as she does not know how to handle him this time.

The hotel staff leads her to her ride then assisted her to the backseat. After a few kilometers, Althea let's the tears she has been holding since she learned that Thirdy left with Rebecca. She got surprised when the car abruptly stops. "Why do we stop?" She asked the driver.
