A Nice Day for Nothing

July 5th

Madran arrived at home to find Elia and Maya sitting at the table and chatting. Madran then attempted to sneak by, but was noticed by Chicory, who then went to bark and run around her.

"Oh, hey, Madran. How was your day?"

"Good. How are you two doing?"

"Oh, Elia and ran into each other on the way back from work, and I ended up coming along. Elia's having an interesting time at work, apparently."

"Well, what happened?"

Madan sat down next to Elia.

"Well, I've had to listen to this one client repeatedly complain about how they've been treated horribly, and how the law is unfair, bla bla. Then, when I say that I can't help them much, they get all angry and start shouting."

"I dunno why, but you sound kinda stressed under that voice."

"Oh, ya think? I'm just glad that the court date isn't soon, because this guy is driving me mad."

"Who is he?"

"Youji Isshiki. He's trying to get me to prosecute that really kind man who owns the LeBlanc Cafe because he thinks that he's abusing his niece, Futaba."

"Oh, that's terrible. Um, is he actually...?"

"No, not that I think. I spent last Sunday at the cafe, where I met up with Akira and also chatted with Sojiro about it. It seems that Isshiki wants Futaba back or something, but can't come up with a good-enough reason on his own. I apologized to Sojiro about the uncle, and he seemed to be perfectly fine about it."

"Yikes. Hey, should the three of us go there?"

"Oh, um, sure. Hey, we can use the Velvet Room as a shortcut!"

"Oh, great idea."

Madran, Maya, and Elia then went to the Velvet Room.

"Hey, guys, where's Philemon?"

"Oh, he went to go around Shibuya, for whatever reason. You can use this door he made if you want to catch up with him."

"Um, ok."

Madran then led her small group to the door and went through to find herself in the section that held many of the smaller shops and realized that they were rather close to LeBlanc Cafe.

"Ooh, wow, we're actually very close now."

"That certainly saved some Yen."

"Yep!"

Madran then looked around and led everyone down the sidewalk until they came across the small coffee shop.

"Well, we're here!"

"Nice job, Madran. You've, well, gotten a lot better at directions."

"Thanks. Let's go in."

The trio then walked into the cafe, with Madran spotting Philemon sitting on one of the seats at the bar chatting with Sojiro, who was making a drink. Madran then looked over to see Akira sitting with Makoto, who was working with him on what appeared to be an assignment with him. Philemon then looked over at Madran.

"Ah, long time no see."

"Hey there, Philemon."

"Oh, you two know each other?"

"Yep. He's a work friend of Maya's, and we all meet up sometimes."

Madran, Elia, and Maya sat down at a booth.
