Working With Phantoms

The Darkened Hall

Madran arrived back in the Velvet Room, and, due to it being a Sunday, managed so by telling Elia that they were going to do a Mementos request. Once there, she saw everyone had arrived.

"Ok, guys, including you two, Margaret and Elizabeth, don't tell mom about her palace. I want this to go as smoothly as possible."

"Understood. Have you two developed a plan for the letter yet?"

"Why so? According to Madran, you've only made it barely a tenth of the way into the palace. We shall come up with an idea when the time calls for it."

"Ok. Well, let's get moving."

The group then went back to the palace, with Philemon transporting them to the Safe Room. Then, they left and began to walk along the halls.

"So, what impression does this place give you, Excite?"

"Well, I know that the corruption was an asylum, but it feels almost like a prison. For example, back in the history of several countries, people would be thrown into sanitariums for displaying any range of differing views. I just hope that the area above changes, because I'm already getting sick of all of the broken tiles, empty cells, and odd screams down the hallway."

"I can assure you that Shadow Elia is probably the only inhabitant of note in this area. Aside from the shadows, which, speak of the devil..."

The group then took various hiding spots as Madran snuck up on and jumped a shadow, which caused it to turn into a long black and blue snake with dragon-like wings and a severe lack of light around it. Madran then scanned the new shadow.

"Ok, well, here's Apep! Apep's weak to Agi, absorbs instakills, Eiha, and Kouha, and blocks guns. Well, looks like it's my turn!"

Madran then knocked the Apep over with an Explosion, which allowed for an All-Out Attack. Then, the Apep recovered and utilized a Dark Verdict on Rosana, which knocked her over. Then, the Apep let out a cry, which brought another Apep on the field.

"Wait, there's two of them? Goodness..."

Madran then utilized a Maragidyne and Baton Passed to Chicory, who killed one of the Apeps with a Hell-Butcher with Madran's and Suga's help and then joined in for an All-Out Attack, which ended the fight.

"Nice job, Clown!"

Madran knelt down next to Chicory and rubbed his head a bit. Then, she got back up and continued to scan.

"Ok, so, there are several traps that are easily revealed if I intensify the scan and keep moving."

"Traps? Goodness."

"Yeah, but it'll be necessary to go down one to get further into the palace."

"Wait, so pitfalls? Ugh..."

Madran could see very clear disgust on Maya's face and nodded.

"Yep. Let's keep moving."

Madran then maneuvered through several hallways that all had slightly differing tile patterns but the same color of black and grey. However, Madran eventually found that the golden path illuminated by her scans formed an "X" over certain spaces.

"Hey, Fwoosh, are these the pitfalls?"

Madran tapped her foot on one, which caused the tiles to crumble away.

"Yep. We gotta be careful, and slow."

Madran then avoided more pitfalls and took down a few more shadows before standing next to one, looking down at it.
