Night-Out

And because another semester is fast approaching, I decided to call Alivia, my bestfriend.

“Ang tagal naman sagutin ng babaeng to”, I mumbled to myself.

After God knows how many rings, finally Alivia answered my call.

“Bruha, tagal mong sumagot! What happened?” I said.

“Namiss mo naman agad ako?” she chuckled and I rolled my eyes.

“Whatever.” I laughed.

Sya nga pala si Alivia Marcos. Paano kami naging magbestfriend?

Let’s hangout?” I asked her.

“Sure! Where’d you wanna go?”

“Do we have a choice? Akala mo naman ang daming pwedeng puntahan dito.” I said laughing.

Oo nga pala, nasa probinsya namin ako ngayon. I’m always spending my vacation with my parents. Hindi ko kasi sila kasama sa Maynila. Ewan ko ba, although I’m an only child, I wanna experience living on my own. I mean, gusto ko maranasan yung pagiging independent. So far, kaya ko naman. But there were times na sobra ko silang namimiss.

“Gaga! May bagong bukas na coffee shop near my school. Wanna go there?”

“Sure! Where you at? Sunduin kita.”

“House. Sige, I’ll wait for you outside. 6pm sharp kelangan nandito ka na!” she exclaimed.

“Osige, mamuti mata mo kahihintay.” I laughed. “Ok. Byeeeee” I hanged up before she could say anything.

Pagkatapos ng tawag na ‘yun, I decided to go to my room to take a bath. Then change to a pair of denim short-shorts and black tank top. Blow-dried my hair, and put some lipstain para magmukha naman akong maayos paglabas ng bahay.

After my rituals, I picked up my bag then headed to kitchen.

“Ma??” I shouted. “Alis na ko.” I kissed her on the cheeks.

“Where are you heading? Anong oras ka uuwi? Sinong kasama mo? Umuwi ng maaga Cassidy Ocampo! Uumagahin ka nanaman!” My mom said. Ugh, si Mama talaga hindi na nasanay.

“Dyan-dyan lang sa tabi, Ma. Manghohold-up!” I joked and laughed.

"Ikaw talagang bata ka! Tumigil ka. Hindi ka makakaalis, tingnan mo!"

"As if naman matitiis mo ko." I kissed her on the cheeks. "Kasama ko po si Alivia, actually I'll fetch her. Magdadala po ako ng sasakyan."

"Magdahan-dahan sa pagdadrive ha. 'Wag iinom! Nakung bata ka, lagot ka sa papa mo."

"Noted, Ma! Bye. Don't worry, hindi ako iinom. Medyo lang." I laughed then stormed out.

I maneuvered my car out of the gate. Then headed to Alivia’s.

“A!!” I shouted as I park my car outside their house. There she is!

“Hoy! Baka masira!!” I jokingly hissed at her.

“Whatever. Late ka nanaman, Cassidy Ocampo. As always.” She rolled her eyes, and then laughed. “Tara na dun sa bagong bukas na coffee shop. I want to try one of their coffee, balita ko ay masarap daw.”

“Pupunta na nga ‘di ba? Excited much? May kikitain ka dun, no? Ikaw ha!! May hindi ka sinasabi sa’kin. Tampo na ko nyan” I teased her.

“All I know is Gabriel’s there.” She said, and I gawked at her.

“As if I care anymore. Tss.” I rolled my eyes and she laughed.

“Galit ka na nyan? I’m just joking. Ang seryoso mo these past few days.” She laughed.

"Whatever. Turo mo na lang sa'kin kung san ba yang bagong coffee shop na sinasabi mo. Madami akong ikekwento sa'yo!" I told her.

--------

“Ano ba yan, A. Ang dami namang tao!”, reklamo ko ng makitang wala nang bakanteng upuan. Siguro nga yata ay masarap ang kape nila dito dahil punong-puno ng customer ang café.

"Dapat pala nagpareserve tayo."

"Let's go back tomorrow instead. Magpareserve ka na lang ng seats." I told her and she nodded.

So we ended up on our favourite place, Beer in Mind Resto Bar. Ugh, I missed this place. But there’s this strange feeling of mine. As stated on one of my favourite lines in Karmic Hearts, “Maybe you could go back to the place or see old faces, but there will be something missing. Something that cannot be brought back from the past.”.

Huminga ako ng malalim at umupo na sa dati naming pwesto way back in highschool tuwing tumatambay kami dito.

Another night-out slash chill night, I guess.
