Mount Justice
~~Emma~~
"Whatcha doing?" Wildfire asked, poking her head in my room, making Justice look up from his spot on my lap.
"Watching a show!" I told her, shoving my unfinished chem packet under my pillow. I was going to work on it later, I really was, but it was so boring! I'd finished the English, history, and journalism assignments Richard had given me, and algebra had already taxed my learning willpower to the extreme. Besides, why do homework when you could watch your favorite TV show?
Willow caught it. "Want me to help you with that later?"
I nodded, sheepishly twisting a strand of hair between my fingers.
"So what are you watching? Doctor Who?" Willow settled on the bed next to me.
"No, My Little Pony!" I said energetically. turning up the volume on the first episode of the three-part about the Crystal Empire.
After ten minutes of colorful, singing ponies, Willow was clearly bored.
"Wanna go do something else?" I asked, taking it that she wasn't very interested in the show.
"Yes please," Willow said with a hint of relief.
"What did you have in mind?" I asked her, turning off the holo-TV.
"Well, Robin and Aqualad were doing some sparring, so I thought we could join and have a two-on-two," She suggested.
I jumped at the opportunity, which disappointed Justice. "What are we waiting for?"
We split into teams of two-on-two, Wildfire and Robin versus me and Aqualad. I can't say I was upset about the way we organized ourselves.
If it was my brother and myself versus Kaldur and Willow, with our training, Rick and I would have won. But, as we were separated to make it fair, we ended it in a draw.
"You know they're a couple," Robin nudged Aqualad and me as Miss Martian and Superboy entered with Wolf
"I totally called it," I whispered back.
"I believe I knew it before they did," Kaldur smiled.
I looked over at Willow and saw her rubbing her arm and looking rather uncomfortable.
"Come on," I commanded, grabbing her by the wrist and pulling her out into an adjacent hallway.
"Alright, spill." I told her.
"Spill what? You want me to make a mess?" I slapped myself in the face, Willow was brilliant with schoolwork, but she was still unfamiliar with the most basic of slang.
"I mean talk. Tell me about what you think about Superboy."
She froze, "What do you mean?" Willow asked nervously.
"I mean," I repeated with a sigh, "That I've seen the way you look at Superboy. You like him, don't you?" i tried to be gentle, but I couldn't help the girlish curiosity that crept into my voice
She scuffed her foot back and forth on the floor, "It doesn't matter anymore, he's with M'gann, and she seems to make him happy."
"Come on, I just wanna hear you say it!" I insisted, rocking back and forth on the balls of my feet.
"No." Willow remained adamantly.
"Saaaaay it!"
"I will set your pants on fire."
