Mount Justice
~~Emma~~
"What's a sleepover?"
I gasped, maybe a little too overdramatically, "Megan! Willow doesn't know what a sleepover is!" I probably shouldn't have yelled, since I was just in the living room, M'gann was right in the kitchen, and Willow had to cover her ears.
M'gann gasped too, "She doesn't?"
"No!" I moaned hysterically, trying to keep my voice down.
"Wow, not to be rude, but that's kind of sad," Artemis said, looking up from the board game she was playing with Zatanna, who had managed to convince her father to let her visit again. After our last adventure with Zatanna and Red Tornado, Zatara was reluctant. It felt good to have more girls around. I'd been hanging around with boys for so long, and I didn't really mind that, but I'd never really had the chance to make "girl" friends before.
"Well, at a sleepover, you have a party with a whole bunch of your friends, and you sleep over at someone's house. You spend the night." Zatanna explained, taking the more rational approach.
"And you have candy, and food, and you watch a movie and stay up all night and talk!" I added, leaping over the couch to sit next to Willow.
"I don't know why anyone calls it a sleepover. No one ever sleeps," Artemis looked down at the checkerboard again, jumped her piece three times, and got kinged.
M'gann gasped excitedly, "We should have a sleepover here, at the cave! Tonight!"
"We could have a Girl's night!" I squealed.
"What about the boys? Won't they join us as well?" Willow asked.
"No!" The four of us shouted.
"I mean, no," I amended quickly, "This is just a girl's thing. The boys wouldn't really get it."
"Oh...Okay," Willow said, brightening up a bit.
"Let me ask my dad," Zatanna packed up the checkers game with a snap of her fingers and ran down the hall to find her dad.
"I'll call my mom," Artemis pulled out her phone and began to dial, speaking with whomever was on the other end in a foreign language.
I grinned at Willow and M'gann. We already lived here. We didn't need to ask!
"I'll have to clean the bathrooms for a week, but I'm in!" Zatanna came back breathless a minute later with a huge smile. "This is awesome, I've never had a sleepover before!"
"Me neither!" I squealed, "Unless you count when I stay at the mountain, but I don't." I laughed a little nervously.
"I have to go home and get a few things, but my mom says it's okay with her." Artemis said, tossing her phone back in her bag.
"What about your dad?" M'gann asked innocently. I was about to warn her to not go in that sort of direction, but M'gann must have seen the dark look on Arty's face, so she let the matter drop.
After some careful scrutinizing, we decided that out of the bedrooms of the three of us who lived at the cave, M'gann's was the largest. She had been the first one to move in, though. She got first pick. We told the boys to make their own dinner and gathered as many snacks as we could from Wally's stash, all while Robin and Wally tried to make us jealous that the four guys were having their own sleepover. Copycats.
M'gann and Artemis rearranged the furniture to make room for four sleeping bags on the floor of M'gann's room, and I set up a TV and the karaoke machine Bruce had given me for my tenth birthday, back when there was a chance that I would have civilian friends to have fun with. I didn't mind as much anymore. Hanging out with my super-friends was much more fun.
