Despite Peeta's plan of action being perfect, it didn't change anything. The Games were still going on. Adrienne stood in her own room, arms crossed over her chest, her eyes locked on the glass tube that loomed in the corner. She just waited there, staring at the thing, listening as the robotic voice would count down the minutes over the intercom.

Fifteen.

Ten.

Five.

The girl had just started eating the food that was set out for her when the door opened the person she least expected to be there walked through the door. "Haymitch?" She questioned.

The man just wrapped his arms around the younger girl, who had become like a daughter to him over the years. Adrienne held her father figure close to her, knowing it could be the last time she saw him. After a few moments, the man pulled away with a heavy sigh.

"Remember our deal, girly." He told her with smile. "I'll be watching you."

"I will." She said with a stiff nod.

Haymitch glanced around, making sure there were no cameras and that the door was closed before he spoke, still keeping his voice low in case there was something he was unaware of. "Remember the plan. You protect Katniss. When the time comes, we'll get you out of there." When she gave him a doubting look, he spoke up again. "All of you."

"You don't know that." Adrienne said in all seriousness. "You don't know what could happen. This is Snow we're talking about; there is always that uncertainty."

"We'll try our best to get you out."

"It's not myself I'm worried about." When he didn't speak the girl continued. "Haymitch, if it comes down to me and Finnick, you choose him."

"Addy, I can't just leave you to-"

"I can handle myself," She snapped. "Promise me, Haymitch. Promise me he gets out of there."

The man was silent for a few moments, seeming hesitant to agree to the girl's terms. "Fine. I promise. But, if he's already gone, there's nothing we can do."

"So make sure you get there first." She ordered him. "Only come back to me if there is time. Alright?"

"Alright." The mentor agreed.

With that said, the two said their final goodbyes before Adrienne stepped onto the small platform, the glass door shutting behind her. She gave the blonde man one last, half hearted smile before the platform started to raise, taking her back into her nightmares. But this time, she was prepared. She was ready.

 She was ready
