"Why'd you do it?" Finnick asked as they were laid on a plush bed. The train sped down the tracks, taking them away once again to the enclosing Capital. Adrienne had her head resting on the boy's strong chest, listening to his heartbeat going steady.

"I had to." She told him. "I couldn't let Annie go back in the arena. I just couldn't. Imagine if my brother lost her."

"What if I lose you, Addy?" He said, his voice hardening and she swore she heard his heart skip a beat. When she lifted her head, she saw him looking at her with worry and fear, but also with so much love. "I can't lose you. Not when I just got you."

Adrienne gave him a small smile and lifted her face up to his, kissing his lips gently. A second later, she pulled away. "Everything will be ok, Finn. Besides, if anything were to happen to us, we could all be together again."

The boy, knowing what she was talking about, nodding slowly. She could tell he was scared of that outcome, but he didn't press matters further, seeing as the rain car became dark, an occasional light flicking past.

Sighing, the two victors, now tributes, stood up of the bed and walked over to the large windows. A moment later, the tunnel opened up into the rain station, where hundred of people cheered for their arrival.

Finnick smirked at them and waved, but Adrienne only gave a half smile, not bothering to wave. She felt as an arm wrapped around her waist and a long, gentle kiss was placed against her temple. This caused the crowd to go crazy and for her smile to grow, her cheeks flushing.

Before she could ask, she felt Finnick's breath on her ear. "He can't keep us apart. Not anymore. I want to spend every moment I can with you, in case...."

"I know." She interrupted him. "I know, Finn."

"You mean so much to me, my love." He said, pulling her closer as he kept his face against her cheek. "I love you so much."

"I love you, too." She said back, and she really, truly meant it.
