AS YOU practice routines with the Vixens, your gaze keeps drifting to the field where Archie and his teammates are running plays. The tension between the two groups is unmistakable—Archie's intense focus on his team contrasts sharply with Cheryl's dagger-like glares in his direction. Yet, beneath it all, there's a current of energy running through the air, as if everyone's hyperaware of each other's presence and the quiet power struggle simmering between them.

"Y/N, are you even listening?" Cheryl snaps, catching your wandering eyes. "I get that you have a hot boyfriend, but your priorities, please. I'm more important. And so is nailing this routine." She spins around, rolling her eyes as she strikes a pose.

"One, two, three—let's go, Bulldogs!" she commands, and the music blasts back to life.

Cheryl had chosen the song, and it's not exactly your style. And, of course, she's added moves that have you bending low, practically flashing half the field. You can feel Archie's eyes glued to you, his stare darkening with possessiveness. He doesn't like sharing what's his—even if it's just a look.

"Damn you, Andrews," you mutter under your breath, sensing his intense gaze.

At the end of practice, Cheryl calls you over, folding her arms with a huff. "Y/N, we need to talk," she says, her tone exasperated. "I need you to do better tonight. I don't care if your boyfriend's distracting. My girlfriend's hot too, but you don't see me getting sidetracked."

She flips her hair and strides off, leaving you shaking your head. You make your way to the sidelines, where Archie's waiting, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Cheryl giving you a hard time?" he asks, leaning in to kiss your cheek.

"Only because you're distracting," you tease.

"Oh, come on, you know you're a distraction too," he grins, shifting to face you fully.

"Oh really? How so?"

"Maybe because you're out there practically showing off for the whole team," he says, his eyes glancing down briefly before meeting yours again.

"You're terrible," you laugh, nudging his shoulder.

"Nah," he murmurs, leaning closer until his lips brush yours. The kiss is short but enough to leave you both breathless, his hand lingering against yours for just a moment longer.

"I'll see you out there," you say, pulling back with a smile. You head to the locker room to grab some water, glancing back to see him still watching.

As you disappear inside, Reggie claps Archie on the shoulder, chuckling. "You've got it good, man. She's a catch."

Archie grins, shaking his head. "I know."
