"You have to leave, right now!" you whispered urgently to Betty, your heart racing as you saw her standing on your doorstep. The evening air was cool and damp, and you could feel a light mist starting to fall, adding to the sense of urgency.

Betty looked surprised at your insistence, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "Why? I thought your parents were out of town?"

"No, next weekend!" you hissed back, glancing nervously over your shoulder to make sure your parents hadn't heard the commotion. "If my dad sees you standing here, he's going to kill me. He's a light sleeper and I'm sure I woke him up when you knocked."

"Babe..."

"No, i'm serious. You can just show up unannounced like this. At least text me before hand."

"Babe, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause any trouble," Betty said apologetically.

"I know, but you can't just show up here unannounced. Please, next time, just text me beforehand." Your voice was barely above a whisper, but the desperation in your tone was clear.

"I promise I will," Betty replied quietly, her eyes filled with regret.

"Good," you sighed, relief washing over you as Betty's apology and promise to text in the future settled your nerves somewhat. "What's so urgent that you had to see me tonight?"

Betty's expression softened, her eyes glimmering with love. "I just wanted to see my (boyfriend/girlfriend). I missed you," she admitted.

Your heart fluttered, and you couldn't help but lean in to kiss her cheek. "That's sweet, Betty. But now, you really need to leave. I'm sure I woke my parents up, and if my dad finds you here, I'll be in big trouble. I'll see you at school tomorrow, okay?"

Betty nodded, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Okay. Love you."

"Love you too," you whispered, smiling as you watched her disappear into the night.
