GROWING UP with Cheryl Blossom as your sister was a whirlwind. She was bold, unapologetic, and fiercely protective—especially when it came to you. So when her best friend, Toni Topaz, entered your life, it was inevitable that things would get... complicated.

At first, it was harmless. Toni was Cheryl's confidant, her rock. But somewhere along the way, Toni became more than just Cheryl's best friend to you. Her effortless charm, her sly smirks, and the way her eyes seemed to sparkle when she laughed—how could you not fall for her?

The problem was, Cheryl could never know.

"Are you even listening?" Cheryl snapped, snapping her fingers in front of your face.

You blinked, startled out of your daydream. "What? Sorry, what were you saying?"

Cheryl rolled her eyes dramatically, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "Honestly, Y/N, you've been so distracted lately. It's like you're off in your own little world."

"I'm fine," you muttered, glancing away to hide the flush creeping up your cheeks.

Unfortunately, Cheryl wasn't one to let things go. "Fine? You've been acting weird every time Toni's around. Don't tell me you two are keeping secrets from me."

Your heart skipped a beat. "What? No! Why would you even say that?"

Cheryl narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing you in that unnervingly perceptive way she had. "Because you're my sister, and I know when you're lying. Spill."

Before you could come up with an excuse, the door to Cheryl's room swung open, and Toni strolled in, looking effortlessly cool in her leather jacket.

"Hey, you two," she greeted, flopping onto Cheryl's bed like she owned the place. Her eyes flicked to you, a playful glint in them. "What's going on?"

"Y/N's hiding something," Cheryl announced, crossing her arms.

Toni raised an eyebrow, her gaze locking on yours. "Oh yeah? Got any secrets, Y/N?"

You swallowed hard, feeling the heat of her gaze. "Nope. Nothing."

Toni smirked, clearly not buying it. "Hmm. If you say so."

Cheryl huffed in frustration. "Ugh, you're both impossible. I'm going to get a latte. Try not to burn the place down while I'm gone."

The moment Cheryl left, the air in the room shifted. Toni sat up, her smirk softening into a genuine smile. "You're not a great liar, you know that?"

You laughed nervously, rubbing the back of your neck. "Yeah, well, Cheryl doesn't need to know everything."

Toni tilted her head, studying you. "And what doesn't she need to know?"

Your breath caught as she stood and crossed the room, stopping just inches away from you. Her voice dropped, teasing yet serious. "You're not very good at hiding it either, Y/N."

"Hiding what?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.

Toni's hand brushed against yours, her touch sending sparks up your arm. "The way you look at me. The way your eyes light up when I walk into a room. You think I didn't notice?"

Your cheeks burned, and you averted your gaze. "I didn't think you'd feel the same..."

Toni chuckled softly, tilting your chin up so your eyes met hers. "You really think I'd let Cheryl's little sister get away with stealing my heart without a fight?"

Before you could respond, her lips were on yours, soft yet confident, and for a moment, the world melted away.

When she pulled back, her grin was nothing short of triumphant. "Guess we've got a secret of our own now."

You laughed, a giddy warmth spreading through your chest. "Yeah, but good luck keeping it from Cheryl."

Toni smirked. "Oh, I'm not worried. She'll figure it out eventually. But until then..." She laced her fingers through yours. "Let's just enjoy this."

And as you stood there, hand in hand, you couldn't help but think that maybe—just maybe—this was worth the risk.
