Klaus Evans is the next tribute to join the dead, and an eery sort of silence hangs over the entire arena. The Mutts have vanished, although, since there are no corpses, the tributes are aware they could reappear at any moment. The tributes, mostly alone, are totally on edge as they wait for the next twist to the Games that will decide their fates.

At the chiming of the bell, five chimes for the five deaths of the day, the tributes feel a sudden urge to stand, and walk closer to the clock tower at the center of the arena. That's when they bump into something. This time, it's totally human.
