MADMAX part 2
______________________________No one dared to say anything on the way to school, knowing that it could easily end in a screaming match. When Billy pulled into the school's parking lot, Jessica could already feel everybody's eyes on them.
She got out of the car and leaned the seat forward to let Max out of the back. Jessica watched as Max made her way over to the middle school.
When she started to turn back around, she caught the eyes of two people who seemed to run the school, both leaning on the boy's car with the doors open.
Giving them a small nod and a friendly smile, she made her way in the direction of where her brother went.
Before Jessica reached the school, she overheard nasty comments about her brother's ass.
"Who is that?"
"I have no idea. But would you check out that ass? Just look at it go."
Jessica was used to people talking about her brother in that way, but she didn't think that it would start so fast.
Either way, she just scoffed and rolled her eyes when the girls came up to her asking many questions about Billy.
"Does he have a girlfriend?"
"You think he'd go for me?"
"What's his number?"
"Can you put in a good word for me?"
Thankfully before Jessica gave them all broken noses, a girl with light brown hair and a snarky smile came to their rescue.
She guided Jessica away from the group and into the school.
"I could see your hands forming into fists and thought it would be best to get you out of there before you were expelled on your first day." The slightly taller girl explained.
"And you're not going to try to get close to me just to date my brother?"
"That jackass? No, he's not my type."
"I'm Jessica."
"Robin. Well, Jess, I hope I can get to know you soon and become friends."
"Yeah, I'd like that."
The two of them went their separate ways to their first-period class. Jessica couldn't think while the teacher lectured because she had just made her first true friend.

Jessica was all for Billy playing basketball since he was able to focus his energy and aggression into the sport. So when he let her know that he was playing during her free period, she was excited to watch.
On her way to the gym, she ran into Robin, who also had a free period.
"Why are you going to the gym?"
"To watch all the sweaty guys play basketball, duh. Come on you wanna watch and make comments with me?"
"Of course, you dingus."
"Aw, a nickname already."
The two girls headed into the gym and sat on the bleachers with a couple of other students.
When the boys came out to begin stretching, Jessica noticed the boy that she saw earlier in the parking lot.
"Hey, loser, who's the guy with the hair?"
"First of all, love the nickname, and second of all I don't know exactly who you're talking about, but I'm assuming it's Steve 'The Hair' Harrington."
"I'm sorry, Steve 'The Hair' Harrington?" Jessica responded with a sense of being unimpressed.
"Yeah, he's also known as King Steve."
"So, what's the deal with him?"
"A golden boy that was a grade-A asshole last year but turned soft for his girlfriend Nancy. Anyways have you heard about Tina's party?"
"A little bit, I heard about it during the passing periods so I might go. Why, are you going?"
"Uh maybe, parties aren't my scene, but if you're going, I might consider it."
The two girls kept on talking and getting to know each other over the short period.

After being home for about an hour, Max had finished her homework and started to get antsy. Neil wasn't home yet, so Jessica couldn't take Max her to the arcade herself.
Jessica asked Billy to do her a favor, by taking them and of course, he was somewhat mad but not too riled up.
Jessica talked to Max about her first day of school, on the way there and somehow it ended up with Max arguing with Billy about the pickup time.
Jessica was over the fighting and only made comments when they talked when they insulted each other. By the time the siblings made it to the arcade, Jess was over it.
She got out of the Camaro letting out a big breath and rolled her eyes.
As Max made her way out of the car and continued arguing, Jessica looked around her surroundings and saw two boys watching them behind some bushes.
Before she could call them out, Max was pulling her into the building. Jessica took a seat where she set up her homework. Every now and then, Max would come back to get some quarters while stealing some chips.
"So, when are we going to talk about your stalkers?"
Max's eyes grew slightly while her cheeks turned a light shade of red.
"Oh uh, Lucas and Dustin are really nice, possible friends. How'd you know about them?"
"I saw two boys watching us outside. Just promise you'll be careful, okay?"
"I promise."
