The Spy part 3
______________________

After walking for a little bit with some small talk floating around, they made it to what seemed to be a place to put old cars.

Jessica didn't know what it was or used to be but knew that whoever parked their car here wasn't coming back for it.

The trio stopped right before the downslope and surveyed the land.

"Oh, yeah. Yeah, this will do. This will do just fine. Good call, dude." Steve complimented Dustin on finding the place.

"It seems good to me, man." Jessica was proud of the little guy asking for help when he needed it, so she wanted to make sure that he knew it was the right thing to do.

The teens made their way down the hill tossing meat as Dustin trailed somewhat behind them, taking in the compliments.

Once they finished up putting meat around the site, the group dumped the rest in a big pile at the middle.

Just as they did so, they heard someone yell, "I said medium-well!"

All of them looked up to see who had joined them on the dangerous journey. Jessica saw Lucas and not to her surprise, Max was there, just as she had predicted.

"Who's that?" Steve cluelessly asked, not recognizing the girl.

"That's my sister, Max." Jessica smiled at him.

Her smile faded though when she saw the hurt look on Dustin's face at the fact that she was with Lucas.

Steve seemed to notice it too, and the teens both gave each other knowing looks saying that Max was the girl he was going to impress.

After everyone talked about barricading the bus so that they had a safe spot in case something went wrong, Dustin and Lucas immediately crouched behind a red car to talk about 'classified information'.

Jessica, Max and Steve started to gather junk that they found lying around to make some type of barricade around the bus. When Steve was off a little way, Max pulled Jessica to the side, asking many questions.

"Who is that? Why are you with them? Don't get me wrong I am super glad you're here. Do you believe any of this stuff? Are you going to date him? He seems perfect for you, just saying. Why didn't you come home last night?"

"That's Steve, and I'm with them because I heard at Nancy's house that Dustin needed help and I thought you might get involved. I sort of believe it, but I also don't know that much. I'm probably never going to date Steve cause he has a girlfriend, but he is my type. I slept at Steve's house."

Thousands of more questions flooded Max's head as she heard her sister's answers.

Before she could ask them, Steve hit the car that the boys were hiding behind with a metal car to get their attention.

"Hey! Dickheads! How come the only people helping me out are my enemy's sisters? They aren't even helping right now just gossiping." Steve yelled gossiping to capture the girl's attention and have them start working again.

Jessica flipped him off and found a metal scrap to lean against the bus.

"We lose light in forty minutes. Let's go. Let's go, I said!" Steve yelled, trying to get the young boys to help.

Jessica finally realised why Steve was captain of the basketball team. He helped Dustin out with his problems, even if he was wrong in some aspects, he got them on track, and always seemed to be leading.

"Alright, asshole! God!" "Okay! Stupid." Both of the boys complained to him about actually having to help, trying to catch up with all that they missed.

They started to make real progress and decided there should be a lookout at the top of the bus. Since Lucas brought the binoculars it was decided he would do it.

Jessica did notice that they were the same binoculars that he stalked Max with and made a mental note to talk with him later to make it aware that she knew.

Once they were pleased with the barricade, the kids started to set up the top of the bus while Steve and Jessica poured gasoline around the area.

"We're going to be okay in there right," Jessica questioned Steve once she was sure that the kids couldn't hear her.

"Yeah, yeah, we should be if it's as big as Dustin told me then it shouldn't be a problem."

Jessica calmed down a somewhat but couldn't help listen to the voice in the back of her head telling her that something was wrong.

It could've been talking about anything she soon realised when she got an overwhelming sense to vomit.

Jessica set down the gasoline container and ran behind the bus throwing up the only food she had that day, pancakes.

Steve rushed to her side and started to stupidly ask if she was okay. Max soon heard her and ran out of the bus to hold her hair back.

Max gently rubbed her back soothingly, taking in pity of the state she was in. Jessica soon stopped and moved to the front of the bus, hoping to get away from the smell.

"Here," Steve handed her a travel-sized mouth wash.

Jessica cautiously took it into her hands and thanked Steve.

"I always carry it with me." He explained.

Jessica walked away for some privacy and returned when she was satisfied with how her breath was.

"Do you think it was the baby or nerves?" Max asked, concerned for the answer.

Jessica ignored all of the boy's facial expressions and focused on Max. If she took in what they looked like, then she would feel even more guilty than she already did.

"I'm not sure." Jessia hadn't thought about the baby for a while, and fear quickly took over her as she thought of the possibility.

"Hey, it'll be okay, remember? We'll figure this all out soon enough." Max tried to help her calm down, seeing the fear in her eyes.

"Hold up, you're pregnant," Steve was more confused than ever. She didn't look pregnant to him.

"I might be pregnant, but we don't know yet."

"Still you shouldn't be here, it could be dangerous for your future child."

Jessica was touched that he didn't immediately ask who the father was and accepted what happened, knowing he couldn't change her fate.

"We can't leave now, or else Dart might come, and this would've been for nothing."

"Fine, but you're staying inside the bus."
