The Battle of Starcourt part 1

"What is that?" Erica exclaimed in disgust when the creature inside El's leg moved again.

"There's something in there," Mike said.

"Wow, you're so smart. How'd you end up with that conclusion, huh?" Jessica sarcastically stated.

Jessica didn't know where he and El stood relationship-wise, last she heard El had dumped him, but she never knew the reason.

"Keep her talking, keep her awake okay?" Jonathan ran from the group with a plan.

They moved El from laying down on her back to slouching against Mike. The babies started crying, so Jessica and Tommy took them off to the side to help with the stress levels.

"What do you think is happening to her?" Tommy looked worried at the situation before them having never dealt with something like it before.

"I'm not sure, the thing we fought last year was as big as a dog."

"Hey, what's going on with you and Steve?" Tommy suddenly asked.

"Nothing is going on with us."

"If looks could kill," Tommy simply stated and looked back over to where the group was.

Curiously, Jessica turned back around to find Steve had a hard look on his face and staring intently at Tommy even though El was crying out in pain. The blood drained from her face when she saw what Jonathan had come back with.

El's screams intensified when Jonathan reached a hand into her leg and tried to capture the little creature that was moving around.

"Stop! I can do it," El sat up straighter and started to concentrate on the task at hand.

Jessica and Tommy were focused on the girl sitting a few yards away from them. There were only a few silent seconds until El began screaming in pain again. Jessica's first instincts were to cover her own ears but quickly cupped Violet's in her hands.

A small creature flew towards the young parents, and they stepped to the side to avoid getting hit.

Before Jessica could get a good look at the creature, a boot covered it up by stepping on it. She was startled by the new people standing next to her until she was met with Hopper's friendly smile.
