27| Wrong Suspect

Tada! I'm finally outside. Currently we are walking through the forest north of Horizon Academy. I was told there are many monsters roaming around in this forest. So far, I haven't seen any of them. It's either the person who told me that is lying or the CODE:TARTARUS really lived up to the rumors and actually exterminate them around this area. The commander of CODE:TARTARUS is walking in front of us with Amethyst Quinn. The trainess and other troops, including Yael, are behind us. And I am here walking beside her highness. I still can't believe she brought me with her. Sincerely, I don't know what her highness is thinking. But she don't know what I'm thinking either. So it's a tie.

"You look too happy for someone who's being detained," I heard her say beside me.

"Well, I feel like I'm on a date outside with her highness. We even have matching pins. So I'm feeling ecstatic," I answered.

"A date...Why would I date someone like you?" Ouch, hindi naman ganun kasakit.

"Why not?"

"You're delusional."

"But just imagine...if we're a couple."

Saglit siyang natahimik sa sinabi ko.

"I'm probably the hotter one." Muntik na akong matisod dahil sa sinabi niya. I've been noticing this but her highness is a bit...hmm arrogant.

"Paano mo naman nasabi?"

"Why? Do you disagree?" Wala akong nasagot. Of course, I don't disagree. How can I disagree?

"What if I cheat on you?" Tanong ko na lang.

"Sure, if you can find someone hotter than me."

"What if I did find someone hotter than you?"

"Why would they choose to cheat with you? They'll probably cheat with me instead." Ahh I can't argue with that.

"What if they actually...like me cause of my personality?"

She just stared at me with pity evident in her eyes. "Please don't look at me like that."

"We're here." We finally stopped walking. I ogle at the big and ominous cave infront of us. It's huge and it seems to go deeper. There is a fog surrounding the entrance of the cave.

"This thing suddenly popped out of nowhere. It's been emitting some sort of toxic that cause the air around it to be polluted." Amethyst explained as she gestured at the dead trees and plants around the cave.

"Remove it," Queen Night said. Seryoso ba siya?

Amethyst chuckled, "Unfortunately, your highness, it's not that easy." She pointed at the entrance of the cave. "See that fog, it prevents people from going inside."

One of the members of CODE:TARTARUS approached the fog but he was repelled causing him to fly back away from our standing point. His other co-members immediately went to assist him.

"What about destroying it from the outside?" I mean, that is indeed possible. But to destroy a cave this big from the outside, don't you need an army or tanks for that?

Amethyst made a small giggle at Night's question. "Although that's very plain and boring, I did consider it. But..." One of the members of CODE:TARTARUS pulled out a big axe which I think would weigh almost a ton. They even need to help him just to carry it. They gave it to Amethyst and my jaw dropped when she held it in one hand. I turned to Yael who is already beside me and he has that I'm-used-to-it look on his face.
