Moments after Selene and Hyron's return at the academy...

"Report."

Before the meeting with all of the transferees, the CODE:NYX had a meeting of their own called upon by Selene herself.

"Where is dad?" Selene asked as she is looking around the room. Only the CODE:NYX is present in the room.

"Not here. Why do you guys keep expecting him to show up?" Ace answered sarcastically.

"Was hoping to get an explanation from him," Selene sat down. "I think he knew more than what he's letting on." She heaved a sigh before meeting everyone's gaze. "I don't think he told you but something is brewing by the border, something big..." she took a deep breath "...like a war."

The tension in the room rise as everyone stop dead on their tracks. Suddenly, everything starts to feel more serious than it was before. Natasha and Nathaniel no longer seemed to be playing around and is paying more attention to the meeting more. Ace is no longer slouching on his chair and is leaning forward on the table to listen. And Amethyst's smile faded. They all knew. They all knew what war was like. And even after all those years, they never got past the debris.

"Dad, told me before I left. And my mission has something to do with it, he said. He told me to look for a dracotaur and bring him to the academy."

"A dracotaur..." Ivan repeated as if it left him in deep thought. "What for?"

"I have no idea."

"So, did you find one?" this time it was Natasha who asked.

"That's what's strange," Selene pointed out. "I don't need to look for one. We already have him."

"Hyron Rye Claude," Nathaniel answered and Selene nodded in confirmation.

"Then what's the point?"

"To draw him out." the leader of CODE:NYX finally joined in. "He didn't know, did he?"

"Not a clue. But there was something else," Selene continued. "Dark Arts. Whoever is controlling or reviving the dark arts is also looking for Hyron."

"What do they want from him?"

"I don't think they want anything from him. It's him they want. I'm still trying to figure it out but I think they need him alive. Tingin ko yun din ang dahilan kung bakit pinili ni Dad na dalhin siya sa academy. Dahil alam niyang dito sa academy, walang patay at walang buhay." Mahabang paliwanag ni Selene.

"So why you?" Natasha asked.

Selene swallowed the lump in her throat before answering, "Because of the Dark Arts. Whoever is behind the Dark Arts sent someone to retrieve the dracotaur. Someone whose been close to the Claude family for a long time now. But I never expected that it's someone I know as well." she paused. "Helios Valentine, my father, was the henchman that the Dark Arts sent. And dad knew that."

Everyone's mood turned sour especially Natasha's, whose eyes are turning red and pupils are dilating vertically. But she kept her restraint and held back her anger. Her eyes went back to normal eventually.

"That's fucked up," yun na lamang ang nasabi niya at sumandal sa upuan niya. 

"Bakit niya gagawin yun?" Tanong ni Amethyst sa sarili. 

"Hindi ko rin alam. We had a fight and in the end we were able to apprehend him. We tried to keep him alive but he got assassinated not even 24 hours of confinement." Selene tried to move on from the topic. "But I guess you already know that. Right, Kin?"
