Borrowing in the day = not good

(Y/N)'s POV

Alice spent about an hour teaching me to fight, and said she can teach me more if I want. I obviously agree and Todd says he'll join me.

I wander over to our kitchen to see how our food rations are, and see we have a literary nothing. "Hey guys, I'm gonna go and get us some food." "I don't think that's a good idea (N/N)." Todd says. Alice nods, "He's right. Going out during the day is dangerous." I shrug, "I've been out before, plus you were out earlier." I begin grabbing all the things I would need to borrow. "True, but I was out for most of the night, and stayed close to the walls. You're going to be out in the open with the giants here!" I put all my supplies in my bag, "And that's a good point, but the other clans are going to be out and if I know the borrowers Todd and I grew up around, they won't let us get anything. In fact they'll most likely push us off the counter." I sling my bag onto my shoulders. "If it makes you guys feel better, I promise I'll be extra careful and stay close to the walls." Todd crosses his arms, "You're never careful." I roll my eye at his childish behaviour. "I've been good." I give him a hug, "I'll be fine, you know how well I escape death." I playfully punch his arm and head towards the hole. "Just don't die on us...you're pretty cool." Alice stuffs her hands into her pockets mumbling the last bit. I smile at the black haired girl. "Aww, you do care!" Alice rolls her blue eyes, "Shut up and bring us food." I give a little wave, "See ya soon!" I crawl out and begin my search.

Marvin's POV

I spent roughly thirty minutes trying to find the right spell, unfortunately there's not a ton of size shifting spells. There's one that makes you the size of an ant, one that makes you as tall as a building, and one that just makes you shrink until you're shrunken into oblivion which I don't understand why that's even a thing, but I eventually find the spell I'm looking for! "Here we go!" I eagerly say. Dark and Wilford lean over my shoulders to examine the spell, but it's in Latin. "I don't understand?" Wilford says, scratching his head. "Basically we curse an object." Dark mumbles, clearly unpleased with the spell. "It's more than that," I explain, "we get something the borrower can have at all times, and with it they can control their own size." Wilford scrunches his eyebrows still not understanding. I take a deep breath, "Say we 'curse' a necklace, and you're wearing it. When you touch the necklace and say 'tiny', you become the size of a borrower. When you touch the necklace and say 'big', you go back to your normal size." Wilford smiles, "Oh, ok." I simply roll my eyes. "So what can we use?" Dark asks. "Well we need one for (Y/N) and for Todd." Wilford thinks out loud. "You guys know two!" I blurt out. They roll their eyes at my excitement. "We could purchase a necklace for (Y/N) and some sort of bracelet for Todd." Dark suggests. Wilford nods, "I like that." Dark pulls out his wallet and hands Wilford some cash. "Buy something they'll like. I'll go find them." They nod at each other and leave the office. "I'll stay here...I guess." I mumble, turning back to my spell book to practice the spell some more.

(Y/N)'s POV

I've gotta admit, the kitchen is a lot creepier during the night. I totally prefer to borrow at night, but during the day I can actually see the things in the room.

I walk around a bit and see a pile of grapes on the counter. Bingo! I take a look around the kitchen to see if anyone's here. The coast is clear! I quickly make my way to the grapes just in case a giant comes in. I stop just in front of the lime green grapes and grab one. The moment my fingers touch the fruit everything goes dark. My heart speeds up at the shortage of light. The sun just came up how is it so dark? I know I said I prefer the night, but this is ridiculous! A crackling sound fills the air. It sound like when the TV's not working and gets those little grey, black, and white dots on it instead of the moving pictures. I look over to the TV, but it's off. I shake my head. What on earth is going on? I slowly back away from the grapes and towards the wall. The sound of laughter fills the air, but it sounds crazy instead of joyful. I bump into the wall, but it seems a lot closer than I thought. I reach my hand behind me; it wasn't the cold tile I was hoping for, but fleshy. In an instant I'm wrapped in the flesh wall and lifted off the countertop. I struggle to break free, but my arms are pined to my sides. The lights flick back on, allowing me to see what's happening. I'm obviously in someone's hand. I look up to see who's, but I don't recognize him. He looks nothing like the other giants, which is a first. He has a lighter shade of brown for hair, super pale, green eyes that appears to be glowing, but the most peculiar thing, he has a scar across his neck as if it was cut at some point.
