Ch 18

Caitlin pov
"Thank you for taking up our offer Barry" Iris said sweetly looking at future Barry briefly before digging for second servings.
"Well thank you for having me. But my purpose here is still the same. I'm here to take my daughters back home. We are all aware that my daughters being here can affect the timeline" Future Barry said.
"OUR daughters Barry. I know that. I would never do anything to hurt them" Iris said frowning while holding her baby bump.
Future Barry frowned in sympathy.
"That's not what I meant Iris" he said softly.
"Dawn and Nora are my daughters too Barry. I care about just as much as you do. I just want to spend more time with them before they're gone forever" She said looking at Barry by her side.
"Barry tell him!" She encouraged smacking his arm.
"Iris I think Barry is right, the longer they stay, the more dangerous it is for them" he said
"I don't want my babies to go!" She said breaking into a sob.
"Way to go Barry! Make the pregnant lady cry why don't you?" Cisco said shaking his head in disapproval.
"Cisco stop" I scolded nudging his side.
"I'm sorry Iris. Dawn and Nora are leaving with me first thing tomorrow" Future Barry said standing up and picking his plate while excusing himself and walking towards the kitchen to clean his plate.
"I actually have to get going, I am grabbing coffee with someone early in the morning" I said getting up.
"Liam?" Dawn asked bitterly.
"Yes Dawn" I said sternly while grabbing my purse.
"Liam Stallard?" Cisco questioned.
"Yep" I confirmed.
"He's gay Dawn" Cisco chuckled humorously.
"Is it so unbelievable that I have friends that actually like hanging out with me?" I said snapping my head towards them in annoyance.
"It's just rare Caitlin. Chill" Cisco said.
"Dawn why don't you stay here for tonight since it's your last day with us. I would really love spending it as a family" Iris asked getting up from her chair.
"Caitlin is family too" Dawn quickly snapped defensively.
"I know. I didn't say she wasn't, I just haven't spent as much time as I would love" Iris explained
"Actually it's not safe if both Nora and Dawn are together with Barry for too long because they're speedsters" I lied trying to sound rational.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Iris asked bitterly.
"Well 3 speedsters in one place from different timeline that are related to each other could snap either of them out of existence" Future Barry elaborated my lie.
"Exactly" Dawn agreed.
"What the hell is happening here? Huh?" Iris said angrily. Her outburst surprising everyone.
"What are you talking about?" I asked shyly.
"You guys really think I'm that dumb? All of you have been hiding something from me!" She yelled angrily.
"Iris relax is not good for the baby!" Barry said soothingly.
"He is right mom. Calm down" Nora agreed.
"Stop lying to me! What have you guys been keeping from me?" She said.
"We can't tell you, it would mess with the timeline" Future Barry said.
"Everyone knows but me! How is that fair?" She yelled in frustration.
"Iris just trust us please" I pleaded.
"No Caitlin! Just shut up and stay out of this" she yelled angrily approaching me aggressively while Barry softly grabbed her arm to keep her from moving any further.
Future Barry instinctively pulled me behind him shielding me from a fuming Iris.
"You're the reason Dawn hasn't been wanting to hang out with her FAMILY!" Iris said enraged trying to break free from Barry's hold.
"Let me go Barry!" She said angrily.
"Calm down first!" He said softly.
"No! All Caitlin has done is keep my DAUGHTER away from me. Dawn is my daughter Caitlin not yours!" Iris yelled her cheeks flushed from anger.
"Don't you forget that. Dawn is MINE not yours. You can't take my children because you simply have none of your own. It's not my fault no one wants to spend the rest of their life with you" she spat angrily and I flinched at her words.
"Iris enough! What's gotten into you?" Barry said sternly.
"You know what–"Dawn said angrily before I interrupted her
"Dawn it's okay!" I said glaring at her to keep her mouth shut.
She glared at Iris angrily but nodded her head my way.
I turned around and walked out.
"Cait wait up!" Cisco yelled after me.
"I got this" I could hear future Barry say as I made my way to my car.
Before I could blink he was standing in front of me.
"Cait" he whispered softly.
"I'm okay Barry" I said softly.
"No you're not. You don't have to pretend with me Cait" he said grabbing my hand and I resisted the urge to pull it away.
"Barry" I pleaded.
"I know you Cait. You're my wife.You can't lie to me" He said softly.
"I'm sorry Barry. All of this is too much for me" I said letting go of his hand and gripping my hair in frustration.
"Hey hey hey. It's okay Cait don't apologize to me" he said grabbing my hands in his and pulling me closer.
"Seeing you like this makes me feel so helpless Cait. I wish nothing else but to take that pain away. I'm sorry for ever hurting you" he whispered softly grabbing my chin and forcing me to meet his emerald eyes.
"I've hurt you so much. But you do deserve love Cait. You deserve all the love in the world baby" he whispered caressing my cheeks with his thumbs. He stated at me lovingly.
"Please Cait, just please remember I love you! I know things are different right now. But you're my home Cait. You're my everything. I need you to hold on to that" he said kissing my forehead lovingly and pulling to his chest.
"I'm so sorry for not noticing sooner. I really am baby" he whispered heartbroken.
"Thank you for saving me Barry" I whispered pulling myself closer to him.
"No Cait. You saved me" he said.
