Caitlin pov
We left for house Joe at around 5 of the afternoon since Iris organized an evening gathering(she changed her mind last minute, typical Iris, but  I love we her anyways). After a long awkward drive to Joe's place, we all knocked on the door and patiently waited for someone to get it.
I could hear Iris voice behind the door shouting at Barry to 'move faster' before swinging the door open with a smile on her face that quickly shifted a shock expression.
"Wow" she mumbled stunned at the sight before her
"Surprise" Dawn mumbled non enthusiastically gaining yet another irritable glare from Barr.
"How are you–why–" Iris stuttered blinking rapidly before pulling Barr and Dawn for a hug.
"Oh my gosh" She smiled at them while both carefully hugged.
"Your belly is bigger than when I last saw it" Barr smiled sweetly rubbing her belly gently with a soft gleam in his eyes.
"I know I'm getting bigger everyday. It turns out not only is she a speedster but she also grows fast too" she laughs placing a hand on top of Barr's that laid in her tummy.
The intimate gesture was like a dagger to my heart.
Am I jealous? No no no.
"Let's get you guys something to drink it's really hot out" Iris smiled softly shifting slightly to let us all in.
"Oh thank the heavens above because I am definitely dehydrated from the long ride here." Dawn exclaimed over dramatically making Barr and I roll our eyes simultaneously.
"Oh well in that case let me get you a nice and cold drink" Iris smiled placing her arm around Dawn and pulling her towards the kitchen.
Barry was there also holding something in his hands that dropped to the floor and made a sharp and echoing sound making everyone jump.
"Dawn!" Barry exclaimed in utter surprise rushing over and pulling her in for a hug dragging Iris who had her arm around Dawn's shoulders.
"Hi" Dawn said softly and awkwardly placing her left arm around him while Iris placed her right arm around Barry in a group hug.
"How-how is this possible?" He asked pulling away from the hug and instinctively looking at me for an answer.
"I got my memory back" I shrugged uncertainly.
"I can't believe it" He chuckled happily pulling Dawn in for another hug.
"Yeah well don't go feeling too happy, I might just vanish from the timeline at any second. Wouldn't want to give you another heartbreak" She said with the same bitter attitude that was beginning to bug me.
I rolled my eyes irritably at her, shaking my head disapprovingly.
"Oh I'm sorry Caitlin did I do something to upset you?" Dawn asked challengingly making me snap my head in her direction stunned at her behavior.
"Watch that tone" Barr interjected.
"I'm just treating her like she's been treating us this whole time; with disrespect" Dawn argued glaring at me with bolted up resentment.
"Enough!" Barr yelled angrily at our daughter for the first time since they've both been with me, stunning not only me but Iris and Barry.
Our eyes widen in shock and we all diverted our gaze to the floor in awkwardness.
"Why are you yelling at me? She's the one destroying our family" Dawn said choking up on her words emotionally.
"She is your mother. We did not raise to be disrespectful to anyone let alone your own family. Apologize to her right now" he said sternly eyeing her expectantly.
"Why does it even matter;I'm gonna die anyways because my parents are obviously never getting together and I will never have a family" she cried out bitterly pulling away from Iris and Barry's hold and turning her glare from me to Barr.
"And you never even once fought for it" She said coldly
"So much for 'always and forever' huh dad?" She taunted bitterly at him before shoving past and speeding out of the house and into the busy streets of New York.
"Barr I—" I spoke softly after the silence from the room got too overwhelming.
"No Caitlin just stop" he snapped angrily at me before walking out the front door.
I could feel my throat tightening and tears soaking my eyelashes as I stared at the floor.
I swallowed back the knot forming and tried breathing back the tears.
"I need to get some air" I mumbled softly standing up quickly and walking off. Barry followed after me calling my name softly a step or two behind me.
How am I suppose to seek my own happiness if things like this are what I sacrifice to get it?
Is my happiness really worth somebody else's pain?
I can't just stand there and do nothing when my actions directly affect other people.
What am I supposed to do?
