Future Barry pov
I didn't want to tell Cait what really happened to our future and neither did I want to tell Dawn. She hasn't been back to the future since she disappeared after Cait lost her memory. And I want to keep it that way for as long as I can. I don't want her anywhere near the future with the way things are looking right now. It will just send her into a perpetual state of permanent panic and we all already know how easily she does that. She gets her melodramatics from me.
I smiled at the thought of my beautiful daughter and family before feeling an overwhelming sensation of sadness.
I couldn't bring myself to tell Cait what our future looked like. I didn't want to be the one dictating how she should rule over her life.
I want her to be happy, even if happiness isn't with me because I love her that much.
But it hurts, and that pain is so unbearable. I feel like I'm drowning and there is nothing I can do about it.
There is no future for Caitlin and I. There is no us. There is no family. There is no love.
I can't cope with it. It all feels like a nightmare.

I have to show both Cait and stupid younger me what they can't see for themselves. if I can't change their minds, then I'll just have to show them what their lives look like a few years from now. I will have to show them life through my eyes. I will have them see what I see.

Caitlin pov
Ever since Barr came back, I haven't been able to get a good nights sleep.
Dawn is still upset with me and has now resorted to giving me the silent treatment because I invited Liam to Joe's gathering. In my defense I had already invited him before Dawn and even Barr showed up; it would've been impolite and out of character for me to uninvite Liam.
I also didn't want Barr seeing me with Liam; it just felt odd and wrong. Besides in Barr's world, I am his wife and the mother is his kids, so seeing another guy flirting and charming me wouldn't be ideal.
The more I thought about letting Liam know not to come, the more logical it sounded.
I got a call from Liam while debating my decision and ultimately decided to tell him to not come but before I had the chance to; he told me that Iris had called early in the morning inviting him to the gathering and I couldn't do anything but fake a laugh and tell him 'that's great'.
"I just can't believe he's coming. I feel an urge to speed him all the way to Italy, that way it takes him all day to get back to New York" Dawn mumbles to her dad while helping him make breakfast.
"Speedy don't you even think about it" He mumbles fatherly giving her a stern look.
"Okay okay okay don't give me that look. I just don't like him. He makes me want to barf. You are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than him" He compliments her dad giving him a small innocent grin
"So you're team dad?" He chuckles humorously.
"Team dad all the way!" She states giving him a bear hug from the side.
She is definitely a daddy's girl!
"What are you guys doing?" I asked approaching them in the kitchen as I placed my phone on the counter
"We're making breakfast" Barr smiled at me.
"Pancakes?" I asked knowing it all too well.
"You know me" He grinned flipping some pancakes onto a plate.
"Give this to your mom" Barr instructed Dawn as he placed the plate filled with pancakes and a side of fruit towards her hands.
"I don't wanna" she mumbled quietly to him and he just gave her a pointed look while she sighed dramatically and placed the plate in front of me harshly causing a thump to echo through the silent house.
"Dawn" Barr scolded warningly.
"What? It just slipped out of my hand" she argued innocently.
"Mhmmm" Barry mumbled in disbelief.
"Barr it turns out Iris invited Liam to the gathering for Joe's birthday" I said hesitantly glancing at him( or rather his back since he was facing away from me).
"You invited him first" Dawn said bitterly.
Her first words to me since last night.
"I was calling him to uninvite him but he told me Iris personally invited him this morning and I couldn't–" I ranted before Barry interjected.
"It's okay Caitlin" he reassured in a distant tone.
Caitlin? So it's NOT okay? Got it.
"Barr" I called apologetically.
"You shouldn't have to change your plans for us anyways" he added trying to sound more amicable but his composure was rigid and tensed.
"Geez dad mind as well tell her to date this douche bag why don't you?" She said bitterly-sarcastically in disapproval.
"Dawn enough with your snarky remarks, you got it?" Barr said looking at Dawn in a slightly angered tone.
She nodded in agreement glancing at the floor in shame before mumbling an apology to him.
"We should get ready. Joe hates it when people are late" Barry said after a long awkward silence while walking upstairs, Dawn trailing after him soon afterwards to her own room.
This should be one hell of party....
