We all sat in a dingy and dark gray room, twelve blocks evenly spaced as the respected tributes sat on them, no one making a noise expect from both District 1 and 2, which was expected at this point. I had my training jacket zipped up tightly, my hair in a painfully tight ponytail as I looked around the room quickly, everyone looking extremely blank as they stared ahead of them.
I turned back around, straightening my back as I looked through the heads of the District 3 tributes, Valour and Velvet having their legs swung around their block as they faces Nolan and Ashlor, all talking rather loudly to each other. I stared at them all for a moment, Velvet laughing at something Ashlor had said to her as she caught me staring, looking over at me.
She shot me a smile as I smiled back at her, the other 3 noticing her as they all looked over at me, smiling as Nolan waved gently before turning back around. Ashlor held eye contact as he smirked at me, letting out a laugh before he turned back around, seeing his hand on his knee.
I looked away from them all, staring down at the floor as I contemplated whether their smiles were meant to be genuine or threatening. Velvet had the most authentic personality of all of them, but I couldn't tell you if it was all an act or not that she was putting on to give me a false sense of security, and frankly I wouldn't put it past her if it was.
I let out a small breath as I pushed myself back on the block a bit, bringing up my foot and setting it behind the boy in front of me, who was practically sitting on the smallest part of the front of his block, his leg shaking nervously. I kept my head down as I tried to look over at Ridley, who like normal was sitting as far away from me as he could, almost falling off of the edge which looked extremely uncomfortable.
"Valour Lunia, District 1" a loud voice rung out through the room, bouncing off of the bare walls as Valour stood up slowly. Ashlor extended his hand to Valour who slapped it quickly, shooting both the girls a smile as they wished him luck. Before he moved from his spot he looked up at me, shooting me a wink as I nodded my head at him, giving him the best bit of reassurance that I could considering I was still scared of him.
The boy in front of me moved backwards on his block quickly, hitting my foot as it fell off of the block, hitting the floor as it made me shake a little bit. He turned around as he looked at me with a frazzled face, looking down at my foot because he made eye contact with me. "I'm sorry" he said quickly, making me furrow my eyebrows at him as I shook my head at him.
"It's fine" I said slowly, nodding my head at him as she shook his head at me, his eyes wide as he stared at me. "I'm really sorry" he told me as I didn't say anything for a moment, not knowing what else to say. "It's okay" I said, as he nodded his head at me turning back around as he sighed, putting his head into his hands as I looked away from him.
I was wondering why he was so apologetic, considering he didn't really do much and it was my fault for putting my foot up on his seat anyway. As the room fell quiet once again, I let out a small breath, the reason finally hitting me sharply in the chest as I stared at the back of his head.
He was scared of me.
!
"Waverley Kersey, District 4" the voice rung out as I let out a shaky breath, rubbing my sweat hands on my pants as I stood up slowly, everyone staring at me as I slowly made my way down the long dark hallway. My feet moved against the floor as the door to the training room was wide open, two peacekeepers standing on either side of it as I walked into the bright training room.
It was completely empty, all of the equipment having been moved, only a few tables and racks of weapons left which could be used for someone to show their skill set. There was a table completely filled with knifes, all varying in size as they sat next to a table which had roping and netting on it for anyone who was planning on showing off one of those.
I walked into the middle of the room, looking up at where the game makers normally sat, all of them talking away, surrounded by plates of food and glasses of alcohol in their hands as they all laughed. I waited as i stared up at them, one of them looking at me as he cleared his throat, everyone else turning to look down as they saw me, all quietening down. One stood from his chair, pushing his hand into his pocket as he looked down at me, a hint of a smile on his face.
He was the lead game maker, and considering that he was everywhere at this point of the year, I had no idea what his name was, which was ironic considering that he was the reason I was probably going to die. "You have 10 minutes to display your chosen skill, your time will begin once you start" he said to me, his voice bouncing off of the large room as I looked down at the ground, letting out a deep breath.
I turned around, looking at the rack of spears and swords, the shining trident sitting on the end as I walked over to it, reaching out and picking it off of the rack. The metal was against my hand as I walked over to the one of the mats, taking a step up into it as I slowly set the trident onto the ground, unzipping my jacket as I pulled it off, knowing I could move easier without the constraints of the jacket. I threw it to the side, picking up the trident as I let out a deep breath, closing my eyes as i regained my composure for a moment.
I knew exactly what I had to do, swinging the trident by my side as I lifted it above my head, moving it in between my fingers as it twirled around quickly, swishing through the air. I threw it up into the air, doing a quick roll along the ground as I stood up, catching the trident in my hand as I stuck it hard around me, knowing that if someone was there it would slash them up unbelievably.
And there was a large possibility that in the next week to come, there would be someone at the other end of the blades.

A/N: this is a very mediocre chapter for you, I suck at describing things like this so I figured I would much rather leave it up to your imaginations to figure out how she works with her trident, but she does it damn well so please make sure you imagine that
please vote and comment and i will see you soon
