+ salt water +
day one
Nolan, Ashlor and I kept things controlled on the rock, not letting anyone else get to it without having to run into one of us first. A lot of tributes died with the swimming task alone, finding it difficult to either make it to shore or to the cornucopia, having drowned themselves or being drowned by someone else.
Velvet and Valour slowly made their way to the cornucopia, adrenaline pumping through their veins as Ashlor helped them up onto the rock with a supportive hand. "How many did you get?" Ashlor asked Valour, a smile spread on his face as we all gathered at the front of the horn. "Three" Valour replied, his death toll larger than mines as he wiped his face free of water with his hand. "I shot 2 of them before you finished them off" Nolan said to him as she put the string of her bow over her chest, wearing it as she shook her head at him. "Could have handled them myself" he said to her as he reached down, picking up a small knife that sat at his feet as he turned it over in his hands.
"I got two" Velvet told him, picking up a sword from inside the cornucopia as I wiped a piece of wet hair away from my forehead. "No one came to the rock, they either drowned or made it to the shore" I said to them, looking in the water to find out how many bodies were afloat, counting what I could see.
"There's presumably nothing out there" Velvet said as she pointed to the other side, her red hair pulled into a tight ponytail as blood stained the side of her neck, but i knew for a fact it wasn't hers. "The trees the only safe place to go" I added, turning back to the group as Valour nodded his head at me, raising his eyebrows at me. "You get any, 4?" Velvet asked me, pulling the lid off a box as she pulled out a knife holster, clicking it around her waist, filling up all the slots with small knives.
"Just the 1" I said quietly, placing the bottom of my trident on the ground, lightly leaning on it as Ashlor and Velvet began looking through the supplies. "We should just make our way to the jungle as well, hunt down as many as we can find" Valour said as Nolan nodded her head at him, looking around quickly to see what she could find.
"Just take what you want and we'll go" Nolan told us, opening one of the black boxes, pulling a rope from it as she threw it to her side. I walked away from them, making my way into the cornucopia, ripping a lid off of a box to see if i could find anything worthy to carry with me.
There was another knife holster lying inside, identical to the one Velvet had, I grabbed it strapping it to my waist and filling it was the knifes that were lying under it. There was multiple boxes lying around the cornucopia, spears and swords leaning and sitting against them. I couldn't be bothered opening all of them, knowing there would be nothing useful inside, or useful to me anyway.
I pulled another box open, finding some netting sitting on a small spool as I picked it up, turning it over in my fingers as I pulled one of the bigger knives out of the holster, shoving the spool of netting into it. I wanted to see if I could find anything that could possibly hold water, finding a small pouch with a zipper on it as I opened it up, pulling the content of it out. There was a small spiral of a thin wire as I set it down, a few matches sitting in a small plastic container to keep them try.
There was a small flat metal box about the size of my palm which I pulled out, finding four crackers inside as I closed the box, putting it back into the pouch as well with the matches and the wire, knowing they would probably be helpful. I pulled the belt around my waist, clipping it into place on my left hand side, turning to knife holster around to my right, actually only having a a few knives in it. I decided to open just one more box, finding a thin sheet of plastic which I didn't think would do much help for me, sitting underneath it was a small metal canister.
It was a small metal canteen, about the size of the flask that Talisa used to carry around filled with spirits. I picked it up, also sliding it into the pouch as I left the cornucopia, making sure to zip it closed, standing on the rock as Nolan looked at the top of her arrows, inspecting to top of them.
"Find anything?" she asked me as I shook my head at her, turning my trident upside down as the blade sat against the rocks. "Not really" I told her as I looked at the pouch she also had around her waist, wondering what she had inside of it, but deciding now really wasn't a time to ask. "Can we bottle up some of the water? Take it with us?" Valour said as he held up a large water bottle, which is exactly what I would have preferred to find.
"It's salt water, you can't drink it" I said to him as a shake on my head as he nodded his, throwing the bottle to the side as I watched it, ruling out going to collect it as I knew he wouldn't like that. "We should head out, get as many as possible before the sun goes down" Ashlor said, yielding a spear as we all nodded out head at him, Valour leading us down the row of rocks, his sword swinging about in his hands.
I walked after him, my trident pointing down at the water as I walked, looking down into it to see the sun catch the scales of a fish, making me happy that there was at least a way we could eat in here. The fact that Nolan, Velvet and Ashlor we're behind me with weapons made me a bit nervous, a swipe of a hand being all they would have to do to kill me right here right now.
