I sat next to the small puddle, my back pressed up against a large rock which kept me concealed from anyone who was coming from behind me. I lifted up my flask to my mouth, taking small sips from it as I tried to get as much water in me as I possibly could, not having drank anything in the three days now.

I had been sitting here for a little while, trying to take in as much water as I possibly could because I doubt I would be able to find anymore for the next few days. It didn't taste any different to water I had been drinking since I got in here, so I doubted it was laced with anything that would kill me, or at least I hoped so. I drank the rest of the water in the flak, putting it back into the water next to me as it filled up, bubbles rising to the surface. The water was slowly draining from the puddle, which would be when i left and started walking again.

I held my trident tightly in my hand, resting it in my lap as I looked around, the sun breaking through the canopy of the trees as it danced around. I was planning on continuing to walk ahead, now in the part of the jungle that we hadn't explored as a pack, which I'm sure Ashlor was going to force everyone to look. I filled up the flask again, reaching down to the pouch on my waist as I pulled out the small box, taking a cracker out as I held it in my mouth, pushing the box back into the pouch.

I slowly bit off parts of the cracker, trying to save it as I drank my water to try and wash down the dry and flavourless paste that was building in my mouth. I wondered in the camera's were on me right now, a zoom in on my face as I sat, shielded behind this rock as I ate my cracker, no emotion in my face. My escape from the career pack was probably covered all night and morning, clips of me running across the beach away from them on everyone's TV screen through out Panem.

They probably also liked my stunt with the fish, having killed off one of the most highly trained people in here, the smile on Nolan's face clouding my head as she ate the thing that would eventually kill her. I thought about how the Capitol were reacting to me, thinking about Mags and Talisa in the control room, their fingers poised on a button to send me something from my sponsors, if I even had anymore.

I didn't particularly need anything up until this point, the amount of running and walking I had done over the past day making me extremely hungry, having not found any food since the night at the beach. I came across the river where we had spent the first night, but I didn't feel comfortable stopping to fish, so I simply filled up my flask and kept running, and I hadn't stopped since.

I heard a twig snap, making me freeze in my position, holding my jaw open, not wanting to make another movement as I dropped my cracker onto the floor gently, gripping onto my trident as I turned around. I couldn't hear anything else, my heart racing as I looked around, trying to see if I could see anyone, or for a sign of anything that could have made that noise.

"I don't think we should be walking this way, this is the first place the pack will come to try and find her" I heard someone say, a boys voice gentle as I set my flask down in the water, which didn't make any noise, I pushed my back up against the rock as far as I could, hoping that they weren't walking this way so that whoever it was wouldn't see me.

I knew it wasn't the career pack, because if it was they would be making a lot more noise than whoever it was, and I'm assuming that they weren't just babbling  to themselves, meaning there was at least two of them. "Waverely is smart she's probably well gone by now" I heard a second voice reply, the voice familiar to me as I stared down as the ground, moving onto my knees as I held my trident in my hand.

I tried to move around the rock a bit to see who it was, or even where they were moving. I could see two sets of legs walking parallel to where my rock was, meaning that they probably wouldn't see me if they just kept walking and didn't turn around. I tried to move a little bit more to see if I could see who they were, making sure I didn't make a single noise.

There was Ridley, holding a spear in his hands as he led the other person, looking down at the ground to make sure he didn't fall over on the mud and wet moss. He looked fine, like he was eating enough and drinking enough, his hair wet and messy as he kept walking. My eyes drifted to the boy behind him, who I knew as the boy from District 3, who was carrying some rope over his back, gripping it in one hand, which was holding together a sheet of fabric, holding some things in side of it,

He had a machete in his other hand, following behind Ridley as he let out a breath, making their way closer to me. I moved back around the rock, looking down at the floor for a moment as I rubbed my lips together, knowing that if I just stayed still that they wouldn't be able to see me, and we could both go on our days as we would have.

But for some reason I gripped onto my trident, standing up as I walked around the rock, my foot stamping on a twig as Ridley and Fuse both snapped their heads up as me, Fuse dropping the rope he was carrying as the makeshift bag fell to the floor, both of his hands gripping the machete handle as he pointed it at me.

They both stood there, Ridley pointing his spear at me as I stared at them, not saying anything as I held my trident out in front of me, slowly crouching down to the ground as I set it down, straightening back up as I held my hands up in surrender. None of us moved as we stared at each other, my weapon now on the floor as Ridley stared at me, blinking a few times as I opened my mouth, my voice breaking through the silence.

"Hey, Ridley"
