+ the last fight +

I knew for a fact that the first place Velvet would be going would be the beach, the arena was way too big for her to be able to search the whole place by herself with the small chance she would run into me. She was probably certain that I would feel comfortable on the beech, because if i was going to fight someone, I would want it to be on my turf. And she was somewhat correct. I could have stayed clear of the beach, waiting for her to die herself, but by the state of my gut spilling out in my hand meant I didn't have any time left for that.

I stumbled through the woods, the sound of the waves and water getting closer and closer as I coughed, blood trickling down my chin as I kept walking. I looked down at my stomach, blood pouring out of me as I tried to push it in tighter, my legs threatening to buckle down from the pain. The ground was slowly merging into sand as I pushed through the trees, my feet sinking into the soft white sand of the beach, the blue waves crashing into the banks.

I didn't want to hide anymore, and I knew that she was here waiting for me, so I needed to draw her out of hiding as fast as possible. I walked close to the water, speeding up a little as I let out a grunt on pain, sprawling out my hand on my stomach to try my hardest and stop my intestines from falling out of my body. The smell of the salt water stung my nostrils, almost making me want to throw up from drowsiness.

The sun was going down already, the warm colours mingling along the horizon and the blue water. It was the picture perfect sunset that you would see nightly back home in District 4, the warm reds and oranges mingling into the blue of the sky as the large ball of yellow halved over the shimmering water. I stumbled over the sand, the water hitting up against my ankles as the tide slowly moved in and out, white bubbles forming in the sand around my feet.

I didn't get that far along the beach before I heard a small grunt from behind me, making me turn to see Velvet launching a throwing knife at me with a loud scream. If I had been half a second later it would have hit me right in the back of the head, her grunt giving me just enough time to duck out of the way as it went zooming over my head. I looked at the red head, half of her face practically peeling off, blood dripping down off of her face as she stumbled along.

I was guessing that her injury was from the rain, having melted a lot of her exposed skin as she ran towards me, screaming as she pulled another knife out of her holster. I had to let go of my stomach as I kept both hands on my trident, blood pouring around as I swung my trident at her, hitting her in the wrists just under the blades as the knife got knocked out of her hands.

"You left us" she screamed at me as she kicked mom the shin, making me recoil backwards a little bit as she picked up the large hunting knife. She pushed her hand toward, trying to stab my in the stomach as I quickly moved backwards, spinning my trident above my head as I tried to hit her with it once again, but she was managing to spin and miss all the blows I was issuing at her. "I never trusted you" I shouted back at her, managed to hit her throwing arm with the blade of my trident as I sliced a large cut in her bicep, making her scream out.

"I should have plunged a knife into your heart when I had the damn chance" she replied, spitting out a large clot of blood from her deteriorating mouth as she slipped out a smaller knife with her injured arm, throwing at me as it landed firmly in the side of my thigh. I screamed, the pain from that mixing with the pain shooting from my abdomen as I decided pulled it out of my leg as quickly as I could, knowing that her next plan would be to twist it.

The cut poured out blood as I threw it as far away from us possible, not wanting her to get it back for her to use against me. She ran towards me once again, and I caught the sight of her empty knife holster, meaning the knife she had left was the large hunting one in her hand. She tried to swing it over my head as I ducked, running away in the other direction as she swung around, snarling at me as I held my trident in front of me, pointing it at her.
