I sat on the couch, my legs curled up next to me and a glass in my hand as I stared at the TV, tonight daily Games report on the TV as Caesar's face popped up. Mags sat next to me in the couch, everyone who had helped me at my tome at the Capitol in the room for this apparent 'exciting' announcement.
Calix stood at the TV adjusting the volume as Daria squealed, moving to the front of the chair she was in as she pointed at the screen. "It's time" she said as Calix clapped, running over and sitting on the other side of me, a smile on his face as I smiled over at him. "You're allowed to drink that you know" Mags said to me quietly, nodding down at me glass as I stared at the brown liquid.
"It doesn't smell very nice" I told her, setting it on my knee as i held it, Mags smiling at me as she tilted her own glass at me, taking a sip of it. "Welcome back to tonight report" Caeser said loudly, a microphone held up to his mouth as he held his hands out on either side of him, the audience that was watching him cheering him on as he shook his head at them, a wide smile on his face.
"This is it" Daria said as Talisa rolled her eyes at her, leaning back into the couch as she downed what was in her glass, causing me to look back ahead at the TV. "You're going to do amazing sweetie" Calix said to me as I smiled at him, letting out a breath as he nodded his head at me quickly. "Hopefully" I replied to him, the Panem anthem playing out from the TV.
"Today, all 24 of our tributes underwent their individual assessments, and coming from someone who has seen the scores there are some fine contestants this year" Caesar said as the crowd clapped and cheered once again, Caesar laughing as Calix and Daria clapped their hands along with the audience. "So without any further wait, let's get into the scores, shall we" he said as he nodded his head, looking directly into the camera as his face shrunk, moving to the corner of the screen as the District 1 logo popped up.
"From District one we have Valour Lunia" he said as a picture of Valour came up, his arms crossed and jaw clenched as she stared into the camera. "10" Caesar said as Talisa let out a deep breath, rolling her eyes as the crowds cheers could be heard once again. "Velvet Shined" Caeser said as a very similar picture of Velvet came up, her red hair pin straight as I stared at the screen.
"9" he said, Daria clapping her hands gently as she nodded her head, her blue painted lips matching her dark blue hair as she clasped her knees together, sitting with a straight back. "They normally do really well" Mags said to me as I nodded my head, lifting the glass to my mouth as I took a very small sip, the liquid burning down my throat.
"And from District 2" Caesar said as the logo fell onto the screen, a loud cheer coming from the crowd as Caesar smiled. "Big fans of District 2 it seems" He said with a laugh as Ashlor picture showed up onto the screen. "Ashlor Barrack, 9" Caesar said as I let out a breath, shaking my head as Calix grabbed my free hand in his, squeezing it tightly which gave me some reassurance.
"Nolan Echo, 9" rung through the room as Talisa nodded her head, leaning forward on the couch as she put her elbows on her knees, placing her glass back on the coffee table as she stared at the TV. "And coming from District 3 we have Fuse Archild" Caesar said, the picture of the boy from 3 came onto screen, I hadn't seen or heard of him much in my time here, but he was probably the smartest person going into these games, which could be difficult for the rest of us.
"4" Caesar said, Ridley shifting into the arm chair he was on as he held a glass of water in his hand, tapping the glass with his finger. I completely stoped listening for a moment, spacing out as Caesar announced the girl from 3, who didn't do much better than her male counterpart. I was pulled out of my trance at Daria's squeal, the District 4 logo coming into screen as she stood up waiting about as anxiously as the rest of us for some reason.
"District 4" Caesar said, the crowd cheering once again, the sound of their clapping slicing straight through me as I held my breath for a moment, Calix still squeezing my hand tightly in his. "Ridley Irving" Caesar said as Ridley stared at the screen, his eyes wide as we all held our breaths for a moment. "6" Caesar said as Ridley looked away from the screen staring at the floor as Daria clapped her hand quickly in front of her before clasping them.
"Waverley Kersey" Caesar announced, the picture of me with my arms crossed came onto the screen, the thought of my family crowded around the TV in the living room filling my head. Mom was most definitely crying at this point, clutching her handkerchief around her mouth as Kai and Dad sat on the couch, jaws clenched as they watched. Firth was probably with his family, staring at the picture of me as his mother and Finnick watched along with him.
"8" Caesar said as the number rang through my head, Daria letting out an excited squeal and Talisa stood up, nodding her head as a small smile fell onto my face. "We can work with that" Talisa said as Calix nodded his head, lifting my hand to his lips as he kissed the back of it gently, a wide smile on his face. "That's amazing" he said as I looked over at Mags, my eyebrows raised as she set her hand on my shoulder.
"You've done well, trust me" she said as Ridley looked over at me, causing me to smile at him as he looked away from me, Daria still clapping her hands as she turned towards us all. "Those are hearty scores, children" she said to us as I lifted my glass to my lips, taking another sip as Talisa nodded her head, picking up her glass as she held it out to an Avox who took it from her, going to fill it up.
"We've been talking to some people, they only place sponsors after the assessments" Mags said as Talisa nodded, setting her hands on her hips as she looked over at Ridley quickly, turning back to me. "And we can get in their pockets with numbers like that" Talisa said continued as the Avox handed her another glass, which she took happily.
I couldn't help but think that at this current moment in time mom was still crying, either out of happiness or sadness, Kai and Dad deliberating how well I had down while Haf sat and listened to the rest of the scores while everyone else made too much noise for him to hear anything.
I was currently hoping that Talisa was right, and with a number to match the rest of careers I would be getting career style sponsors. If I was going to out of these games, I'm going to need a lot more help than I thought I would.

A/N: another nice little mellow chapter for you, I didn't want to give her too high of a score but I didn't want her to be so much lower than the careers that she wasn't thought of as one for them so I settled for an 8
also I know that in the books they grade them out of 12 but they don't in the movies so I just went with out of 10 as it seemed easier
so please vote and comment and i will see you soon
