Beautiful Tragedy (Written 3-17-20 Revised 4-5-20)
Fresh greenery blooms
in the unsuspecting water
New nutrients delivered
from the prospering fields
The algae thrive and bask
in the warm sun and fertilizer
And it suffocates all other life
with every new speck of glowing green
Because yes, new life has arrived
in this innocent little stream
still, competition breeds greed
