This one is inspired by the podcast And That's Why We Drink (@atwwdpodcast on Insatgram)!!
Only an Hour (Written 5-9-20)
Goosebumps peak across my skin
and a chill runs through my bodyIt happens every single time
I hear these bloody stories
Yet every week without fail
I come back for moreMore tales of pitch black specters
hiding in abandoned buildings
Twisted stories of planning or chance
that end in splattered red and deathIt's hard to believe these things could happen
to real people across the world
who lived through horrible horrible nightmares
that became all too realAnd every week I hear their stories
just an hour of my time
I work or I clean
while the words float in the airAn hour for me to hear them
but I rarely truly listen
An hour of thrill for me
A lifetime of fear for themStraight to My Brain (Written 5-9-20)
You stir my brain
with cold metal and force
You send currents through
my damaged body
You strap me down
and say I'll be cured
But I see that cursed smile
through the blinding lights
Dizzy from constant pain
and your cruel tools bring no relief
