Drowned (Written 5-14-20)
I want to believe it was an accident
nothing more and nothing less
but these shards of ice keep growing
cutting through my soaked skin
It explodes and cracks in my chest
It shreds the chambers of my heart
The water that clings to me
to my dress, my hair, my smile
It's so cold that it burns holes
through the messy remnants of my heart
Your tears only add
to this awfully cold fire
I want to feel the warmth of our friendship
or anything at all
But you stole that from me
You stole that from me
My happiness
My trust
My innocence
My life
