#everydayinjune was another one of those daily poetry prompt challenges like Escapril. However, I was only able to do a few of the prompts so instead of making a whole book for them, I've compiled them down below! Wish I could've done more but I was really busy with summer courses and TYWI stuff.
Day 1: Suitcases Packed
Stuffed full of extra whatever
so much more than I could ever need
because you never knowWeighed down with books
ten for a week long trip
because you never knowThe unnecessary calms my anxious fingers
I won't be unpreparedBut it festers when we plan to leave
There are so many things...
Did I forget something?Day 2: Pause or Play
So many times I wish I could just press PAUSE
on a true universal remote
To get an extra hour of sleep
To finish my work
To relax without hearing the nag of people
To escape the din of life
And when everything gets too much
too much for a simple PAUSE
I wish I could press STOP
and EJECT myself from this broken world
before I get too many scratches
before my life is stuck on repeat
But I never cave
I PLAY on and on through this cycle
Round and round and round I go
I hope someone enjoys my movie
I hope someone is watching at allDay 3: The Weather Forecast
The temperature is a feverish 103°F
Later there will be heavy thunderstorms
with a chance of hail
It's a great day for an existential crisis
If you go outside, don't forget your gentle façade
Thanks for tuning in
Now, back to endless regretDay 4: Sand in the Hourglass
I just sit and watch
the ribbons of time slipping passed my eyes
moving through the shiny blown glass
It traps my llife and keeps me mesmerized
until the frayed end
with so many strings left undone
slips throughEverything is so still without a breeze to blow
the leaves of the trees
the blades of grass
or for gravity to pull down
the soft sands that move
the deep red ribbon
in my hourglass

Chance (Poetry Collection)
PoetryIn 2020 amid the COVID-19 quarantine, I started writing poetry again. These are the chances I took to connect with others through simple gatherings of words even if we couldn't gather in public. [March 14 - PRESENT]
