You chased those
dreams
every single one
the school
the job
the person
You struggled
You worked
You had fun
But,
if I were you
I'd be more careful
trusting the world
with your mind
with your time
with your heart
If only you weren't
so bright
so dedicated
so beautiful
If only you met me
before I chose
this path
this life
this existence
I'm sorry
to break our promises
but you wouldn't want me
to not be myself,
would you?
So,
if I were you...
