soyoung
"i think that's all for now, taeyong said to only inform you about the dangerous area so you would be safe." jaehyun explained, gesturing me to follow him who stood by a closed door, then turning his head to face me. "for now you can help by loading guns and magazines.""guns?" i muttered to myself, flashbacks flashing through my head.
jaehyun twisted the doorknob open as we both entered a small and dark room, the only light that lighten the room up was the silver lantern on the table. everything about the room made me anxious. rifles and guns hanging on the wall, boxes filled with tiny bullets and different types of weapons were in this one specific room. it makes me wonder if it's even safe to be here.
"i'll take it from here." a honey voice filled the room.
jaehyun smiled at me after patting my shoulder. "doyoung will take it from here." he repeated before leaving the two of us alone.
i hate being alone with somebody i barely know, especially when it's someone who's difficult to build a conversation with.
cluelessly, i took the seat forward doyoung.
my eyes glittered after spotting a pistol on the table, not hesitating to grab it.
it was six inches long and with its stainless steel and polymer construction it weighed just twenty five ounces, making it one of the smallest, lightest pistols in the world yet for me it was heavy. the in-line magazine could hold seven bullets.
"nice.. a KAhr P9." i smiled at myself and continued to observe it.
doyoung looked up at me, amused by the fact that i was familiar with the weapon on my hand. "you know how guns work?" he inquired before looking away, focusing his eyes on the rifle he was loading.
he sat with his legs spreading wide, his chest exposing since three of his buttons were opened, his skin glowing and shiny because of the sweat covering him, yet he still looked like a goddess and at this point i question myself... how is everybody in this hideout so good looking?
"yeah, my father used to be a cop and would teach me how to use a gun." i explained, amusing him even more. "where did you get all these guns from?"
"we went up to the police station and stole them, piece of cake." he briskly responded, sounding all proud as a small smile crept up his lips.
after he replied, there was a minute of silence where the only sound that could be heard were the clicks of the guns everytime we loaded them. i could sense doyoung's gaze everytime he looked up at me. his eyes staring right at me, cause myself to sweat and it distracted the hell out of me. do i have something on face? or is my face generally just ugly, that's why he's looking?
"i'm sorry if i was a bit harsh to you when jungwoo brought you here." the silence was finally broken by doyoung.
i lifted my head up and blinked, not expecting him to give me an apology... he wasn't even that harsh to me anyway, call it harsh if you're donghyuck or somin. "it's fine, you don't have to apologize."
"i just wanted to stick to the rules, i didn't want taeyong to explode in anger again when he sees jungwoo bring another stranger in our hideout." he explained, placing the weapon on the table, then attaching his arms on his knees as he looked up at me.
"soyoung..." he began. "who are you to make him break the rule he made himself?" the sudden feeling he was giving me was very offbeat, i wasn't sure if he was challenging me, just the way he was staring crept me out.
"are you guys familiar with each other in the past? if it were others, he would kick them out without any hesitation.... but he willingly let you stay." mixed feelings were overflowing in me, i had no idea if i should be confused as well because what doyoung said made sense... why me? should i be flustered because taeyong is letting me stay, specifically me?
"i honestly don't know, i've only talked with him once... it was that morning before the virus spreaded." i explained, causing doyoung to pucker his face.. making him even more confused.
"huh." he leaned back and placed his lap on top of the other. "this isn't a trippy quiz, just to assure you soyoung, i'm just curious... taeyong doesn't really like people other than his close friends.. now i'm wondering what you are to him."
i shrugged my shoulders and looked at doyoung, confusion drawn on my face as well. "i don't know, for me he was just a living art who takes the same bus as me everyday.. but that one day, he decided to take the seat beside mine." my words made doyoung's eyes enlarge, so wide which made him look like an adorable bunny, i know that was quite irrelevant to mention, but he does look like a bunny.
"he approached you first? huh, that's infrequent." doyoung sighed in disbelief, i could tell he had given up, maybe asking taeyong was better than asking an oblivious girl. he stood up from his seat and walked toward me.
"maybe he thinks your hot."
doyoung leaned down, carefully placing his fingertips on my chin, deliberately lifting it so that i would face his. the moment i blinked, our faces were inches away from each other and i froze... especially when his eyes drawn down to my shaking crimson lips, then biting his own. "i must admit, you do distract people with that beautiful face of yours."
his lips curved into a mysterious smirk before leaning back, finally putting space between us. "anyways, i'll go ahead and search for more supplies and food with tae and jae."
as he closed the door, i sat completely still with my eyes widened. "what the hell...."
