it was as if everything turned into slow-motion, as if the world has completely stopped and even everything in the background became blurry and unclear. the sight in front of my eyes made me almost melt, tremble down the floor with no hope. the walker continuously harden his bite on jaehyun's wrist, jaehyun screaming out of pain and tried pulling away his hand from the monster but couldn't succeed.

jaehyun's bitten.... jaehyun?

i was scared, i know i've always been but this time i was so scared that i absolutely just froze at the point that i didn't do anything. i breathed in and out but air wouldn't enter my lungs. starved for air, my heart raced at tremendous speeds, and my lungs shallowly rose and fell in time. i stood there for what felt like an eternity but was actually only a few seconds right until somin screamed at my ears.

"soyoung fucking do something!" somin sounded very worried and serious, it kind of shocked me. "please before he dies!" she handed me an axe, shaking it and was impatiently waiting for to accept.

so i did, i grabbed it and turned my attention to jaehyun again.

he's bitten, there's nothing else i can do... he's already bitten!

if you get bitten, you turn into one and there's no way you can turn back!

unless... unless, i...

"fucking kill the walker soyoung!" somin hollered.

then i killed the fucking walker!

not quite, instead of aiming for the monster i aimed for..... jaehyun's arm.

just like that, the axe sliced through jaehyun's wrist as both the walker's head and jaehyun's hand fell down on the grass. before the monster could make any more movement, i hastily stomped on its head and felt relieved after seeing it dead.

"ahh..." jaehyun collapsed on the floor, staring at his chopped off arm with terror inside his widened eyes. the blood endlessly gushed out, crimson liquid squirting out his body. he was completely frightened at the fact that he had nothing to do but to stare at his injured arm. it's quite understandable, seeing that your hand is completely chopped off and laying on the floor, of course you would feel so appalled and frozen.

was this even a good idea?

oh gosh, oh my god.

"why the fuck would you chop of his wrist?!" somin screamed, pushing me and tried to threaten me but of course i wouldn't be scared by someone like her.

i purposely bumped her with my shoulder and approached jaehyun, kneeling down and frantically taking off my dwight uniform jacket. "oh my god, i'm so sorry jaehyun i- i wasn't thinking clearly!" i apologized, my eyes slowly turning teary. "i'm sorry." i repeated. i grabbed his arm and immediately wrapped the cloth around his arm, pressing it together to keep the blood from bleeding out.

"why did you do that?" he said calmly.

"i wasn't thinking clearly... i- sorry." i paused and tightened the cloth around his arm. "please just keep pressure on this and i-"

"get inside!" i could hear doyoung scream, i looked over to see him kill the walkers who recently entered the field. "hurry, we don't have much time!" mark screamed with his tone shaking, continuously whacking the monster with his frying pan.

"soyoung we have to go!" i could feel someone wrap their arms around me from behind, slowly pulling away from jaehyun. "wait- no, but jaehyun!" i yelled, turning my face around to see taeyong with a tensed expression, tensed after seeing both me and jaehyun in such a position. "taeyong we can't leave jaehyun-"

"don't worry, yuta and taeil are taking him." he assured, and after i gazed back at jaehyun to see him getting dragged away by the two men taeyong mentioned earlier.

"let's go." taeyong said. "let's go." he repeated. once we stood up from the grass, taeyong firmly held my hand, squeezing it tight and securely whilst we all ran away from the monsters wandering by the entrance and possibly walking after us again. "hurry!" sicheng screamed who stood by the door, opening it and impatiently waiting for us to enter without the monsters joining afterwards.
