"can i ask why i'm walking a giant baby home?" i inquired, expecting an answer from yukhei, but he was too busy watching himself take big and long steps. "what a kid." i rolled my eyes and playfully linked my arm with his. he just looked at me, a bit confused.

"hmm?" he hummed.

"why am i walking you home?" i asked, and his response made me huff and step away from him. "seriously yukhei? not that again." i rolled my eyes upwards and focused on where i was walking, instead of him.

"i'm serious about this soyoung, the virus is spreading quicker than we thought! it's going to end the world, luckily i had some weapons prepared for this. why don't you believe me? i already proved you with the video i showed to you." yukhei was in deep serious, i could tell it by his voice tone getting darker and how he looked so agitated.

i hummed inattentively. "mhm, that video from a zombie movie."

my sayings made yukhei sigh in disbelief, he had given up and didn't want to convince that he right. it was quite hard for me believe that the world is ending because of that virus, i'm not that type and it was odd to see yukhei act like this, he usually just talk about rainbows and unicorns, but now all he talks about for the past few days is the virus and how it's gonna end the world, how when you get infected you'll turn into a zombie-like being.

it's crazy, but i hope he's not being serious.

before yukhei could talk nonsense again, something prevented him which was the gruesome scene happening in front of our eyes.

a car got tumbled around as people began to scream and run for their lives, the street was erupted by horrific yells which scared the crap out of me. i couldn't tell why there were humans running after others, their skin was profusely pale as if they had awakened from their death, blood on their body and clothes and crazily ran, trying to bite fleshes from the others.

"shit, it's happening." yukhei gasped and looked at me who was completely spaced out with my mouth wide open.

"let's get out of here!" he said and grasped on my wrist, dragging me and forcefully pulling me as he sprinted. i tried to run along, but how when he was taking 10 times bigger steps than i did? at least his dragging was working for me to catch up, yet it was still extremely difficult. "uhh, yukhei what's happening?" i asked but he didn't explain.

the street was filled with people, too much that we continued bumping into others which caused my fear to grow bigger. claustrophobia goddamn you!

"where are we going?" i asked, busily scanning our surroundings to check what was happening, it was still the same... everything was gruesome. "my home, i'll explain later just keep up!" he said.

who knew yukhei would be protective, when for the past 3 years, he has been such a baby that he calls me in the middle of the night for a hug?

when we spotted yukhei's house at the far end of the street where a dead end was also found, i couldn't explain how relieved i was.

right after a man growled and with no hesitation attacked me, jumping on top of me as i fell on the rough floor. i looked at his messed up face and recoiled, everything about him was awfully ugly and horrifying! his skin pale and he was drooling saliva that had blood on it, his eyes pure white that it almost disappeared. it was truly disturbing that i almost let him willingly bite my flesh, but yukhei was quick enough to pull him away from me.

"soyoung hurry and go in!" he said as i crawled backwards and watched him smack the monster's head on the floor, so aggressive that its head cracked open, exposing its pink and soggy brain.

i stood up and ran my way to his house, opening the door and waiting for yukhei who was sprinting his way in while the other monsters were running after him. so fast just like from the movies i've watched.

"hurry!" i screamed and was readying myself to shut the door close after he stepped in.

when he did, he managed to do it himself and we both fell on the floor, he laid on top of me as we crawled backwards while eyeing the door getting banged from the infected humans.
