the dark finally took over the day, night wrapping everyone like a warm blanket as all closed their eyes to rest... except me. i had hurriedly exited the shared room with yuta, making sure to make no noise after closing the door.

"phew." i sighed and turned around, so prepared to leave but when i saw johnny standing by the toilet door with his tousled brown hair and tired eyes, i froze completely. he blinked confusedly, eyeing me from head to toe before licking his dry lips. it seemed like he just exited the toilet.

with slight fright, i stood still and hid the gun behind my back. "what're you doing out here so late?" he queried, raising and puckering his eyebrows as the veiny hands he owned slid down his pockets. shit, it seemed like he'd noticed the weapon on my hand.

"what are you doing here?" i asked, giving him a challenging look and crossed my arms after tucking the gun on my skirt. johnny was amused by my impression, i could tell with the smirk on his lips slowly growing bigger and bigger.

"was about to piss." he tilted his head toward the door behind him.

"you know what, why don't you join me and we can take this talk inside?" he impatiently said, smirking as i felt my cheeks severely burn, turning crimson as johnny rose an eyebrow, biting his lip and waiting for a response.

how do i escape from this situation? someone please help me!

"sure." i grudgingly said. "why don't you wait inside for me?" i asked with a seducing tone, making him smile dreamily and step back, reaching for the doorknob. "i'll see you on the other side babe~" he winked before entering the toilet.

wow, he fell for it.

with no hesitation, i immediately speed walked through the hallway, keeping my head low and praying that johnny wouldn't peek outside to check if i was there.

"shit shit shit shit shit." i thought and began to walk faster and faster.

finally i could stop once i reached the first floor, dramatically sighing, i wiped a sweat from my forehead before exiting the building with a gun on my hand.

when the fresh breeze touched my skin, i couldn't help but smile and slowly shut my eyes. the pure black of the night was like a comfort, the blanket of generous velvet that kept me safe... maybe inside here, but behind those gates i won't be. i never thought i could enjoy a brief minute of the beauty of night, how relaxing and calming!

enough. the faster i get out of here, the quicker i can come back safely. i just want it over, i just want yukhei's bracelet around my wrist.

i now stood in front of the gates. must be closed everytime we enter and leave, especially at night... but here i am breaking the rules. i shrugged off the thought and prepared myself to leave, but someone stopped me.

fuck, how am i gonna explain my ass to johnny?

"what are you doing soyoung?!" the softness inside those voice was definitely easy to clarify that it wasn't johnny. who had the softest voice among us? obviously jungwoo.

"jungwoo!" i whisper shouted and turned around, not scared or anxious, someone as pure and innocent as jungwoo wouldn't worry me at all... but spotting donghyuck behind him made me quiver in fear. "oh... donghyuck, wait what are you guys doing?"

"what do you think?" donghyuck exasperatedly spat. "we're on night patrol, as expected... i'm paired with jungwoo hyung." his eyes rolled upwards. the words he spoke came out offensive, but jungwoo just smiled it off.

"we've been having a calm night, you want to join us?" jungwoo said making donghyuck shake his head.

"i don't think that's the right question to ask her right now.... the real question is, why are you trying to open the gates?" he shot me a glare, deadly enough to make me tremble.. how is it possible for a young kid to scare me like this?

"i fucking knew it from the beginning! you're gonna open that gate to let the walkers in, and kill each and one of us!" donghyuck began to speak out nonsense causing both me and jungwoo to enlarge our eyes.

"no no~ donghyuck shut it." i said and scowled. "i'm not planning anything evil! i could never kill someone, as pure and kind-hearted as this boy right here." the grin jungwoo flashed made me automatically pinch his scarlet cheek.

i had successfully convinced donghyuck that i wasn't lying. "then are you planning to leave?" he asked, i nodded my head making jungwoo gasped worriedly.

"what?" he exclaimed.

donghyuck smiled. "oh, feel free to not come back."

i squinted my eyes at donghyuck. "i assure you i'll come back." i sneered.

"that's dangerous soyoung, very dangerous. where are you going?" jungwoo asked, both of them stood and watched me load the gun i had, i could tell donghyuck was amused... this girl knows how to use a gun? he probably thought.

"earlier i accidentally left my bracelet in the store after running away from the walkers." i explained, donghyuck sniggered and looked at me with a grimace expression.

"seriously, all this for a fucking bracelet? you're risking your own goddamn life soyoung." he informed, i teasingly smiled at him. "aww, lee donghyuck cares about me?"

"erhh, shut up." donghyuck huffed out of disgust.

"wow, the bracelet must be really special." jungwoo said.

"yeah, it is really special.. my best friend yukhei gave it to me, before he disappeared and left me alone in his house to search for food.. for both of us." i paused and looked at my empty wrist. "he told me to always touch it if i ever feel troubled or scared... not having it on makes me anxious each seconds that passes. plus, it's the only thing i have left from him since he's already gone."

i noticed jungwoo. he was red as rose. his eyes and mouth were frozen, wide open in an expression of stunned surprise, and although he was staring straight at me, he appeared not to notice me at all.

"fucking freak, hello?" donghyuck sternly spoke, snapping his fingers in front of jungwoo's face after noticing it as well.

"yukhei? as in, wong yukhei? huang xuxi? lucas?" hearing someone speak out his name, indescribably made me gleeful, knowing that someone was familiar with yukhei made me so happy... jungwoo would probably understand why the bracelet is so important for me now then.

"soyoung-ah, i'll come with you!" jungwoo said, silently opening the gates for me. "hold on a fucking second-" donghyuck frustratedly said in confusion after the gate was being opened in front of his eyes.
