"Hey! Are you guys alright? You've been quiet since you got here, is there any problem?" Merideth fretted na nakatingin sa kaniyang mga kaibigan. Kasalukuyan silang nasa cafeteria at magkakasabay na kumakain ng lunch.
Wala ni isang sumagot sa kanila... bagkus ang paningin ay nasa mga pagkain na nakahain sa kanilang table kaya naisipang agawin nito ang atensyon nila.
BOOOOOGGSH!
Napadako ang kanilang paningin sa hawak nitong libro.
"See? If I didn't hit this desk with my book, we'll never caught your attention." she diagnosed. "What is happening to you guys?" sibangot niya ng makaupo siya.
"We've been best friends since we were grade 10-and of course, a friend will never hide something right? So we will just let you know that Merideth and I are always here whenever you need somebody to talk to." Karla uttered politely ng hinawakan niya ang mga kamay nito.
The sullen looked on the both of them still hadn't gone.
"Can you guys, please? Tell us the reason why are you guys being... absent minded?" si Merideth na nag-aabang ng sagot nila. "Kanina pa kayo spaced out."
Sumulyap si Delan dito at kaagad din ibinalik ang paningin sa libro.
"Delan? Are you sure you wanna tell them?" sabat ng kaniyang kambal.
"Tell us what?" tanong nilang dalawa.
"What? Who cares Dwayne? They're our best friends...."
"If you guys doesn't want to tell us, its fine. If its too private or about your family, we understand." wika niya sa mahinahong tono.
"No. Its just..... Mom has been acting really strange since this morning when we woke up."
"Your saying that your Mom was acting a little bit strange? And for all I-We knew that your Mom is always the best, she's a great lady."
"She just turned weird this morning and I don't know, were not used to it. Even An and Riri noticed her this morning, and I'm not sure if they were.... affected? I don't know..... Unlike the two of us, we couldn't hide our feelings."
"I hope they can tag along." dagdag pa niya.
There was a long pause filled between them.
"I have to pee...." its Delan who excuses herself. Pagkatayo niya ay bahagya naman nilang sinundan ito ng tingin na patungo sa restroom sa dulo ng cafeteria.
Pagkapasok niya ay agad niyang binuksan ang gripo at hinilamusan ang mukha para marelax ang sarili at kalimutan ang mga kakaibang nangyayari sa kaniyang ina. Pagkahugas niya ay sandali siyang huminto at pinagmasdan ang sarili sa harap ng salamin bago huminga ng malalim. She dried her face gamit ang kaniyang pamunas na kinuha sa kaniyang bag.
"What took you so long?" tanong ng kaniyang kambal ng makarating na siya at kaagad na umupo.
"Nothing."
"Here, we've bought you lasagna. We knew that it is your favourite." Karla smiled as she pushed the lasagna towards her.
"Awe thank you..."
"So if something bothering you, let me know if there's anything we can do to help." wika niya, showing a little enthusiasm. Both of them shot her an appreciative glance and smiled.

It was nearly 12:30 ng simulang pag-usapan ng mga katulong ang tungkol sa mga bata. They are at the kitchen busy washing the dishes and drying them up.
