Jason froze. His heart thumped. He was used to this, but for some reason, this felt unnatural.
'Umm.' Rachel turned towards Piper, then to Jason.
Jason mouthed, don't do it. He looked furiously at Mr.D, then at Chiron with pleading eyes. Chiron looked like he had no say in this matter
'Are you guys serious?' Jason asked.
'Jason, I am,' Dionysus said, 'I am very serious.'
Jason's heart skipped a beat. 'But-' his voice faltered.
'Are you ready, dear?' Dionysus asked Rachel as Piper looked at Jason.
'I- I'm ready.' She said. Jason wanted to punch her, and he could tell Piper wanted too.
Rachel stood up and dragged her three-legged stool behind her. When she reached the middle of the campfire, she sat on her stool, took a deep breath and announced the prophecy.
'The ghost of fire with deal and cage,
Shift to places you have been.
Destroy the path of this king's rage,
With every surge of pain by sin.'
Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at Rachel in amazement.
She continued, and everyone gasped.
'West must the queen's defeat
Mask the scent of betrayal.
To the heart shall they retreat,
Wind and sky will risk and-'
'STOP!' Jason yelled. 'Stop all of this!'
He stormed out, literally, and Piper followed.

'What happened with you?' Piper asked.
'The last line of the prophecy.' He told Piper. 'It isn't good.'
'What do you mean "it isn't good"?'
'Think,' His cheeks were turning a light shade of pink, which might've been from the flames, 'what rhymes with betrayal?'
She gasped. 'Oh, I'm so sorry, Jason. And I might as well get this out, I can't go on the quest with you. I need to go home to my dad. Sorry.' She said.
'You knew I was going to pick you?' Jason asked. She nodded.
'Okay then.' He said and started walking away.
'Jason,' Piper said. 'I'm sorry.' Then she ran to Jason and kissed him. Jason immediately thought of Carli. He kissed back.'
'Bye, I guess.' Jason chocked up.
'Bye.' Piper responded. Piper walked towards Half-Blood Hill. Jason was left alone in the cold, dark night.
