Despite Thalia's death, Jason felt ready to defeat the ex-king of the gods.
He, with the others - Percy and Annabeth - ran to where Jason last battled Uranus. To none of their surprise, the battle was no longer there.
Just my luck. Jason thought.
He told everyone that he's scout from above and Percy and Annabeth to look at ground-level.
He flew up, though he was growing painfully tired. A couple of minutes and he's fall straight out of the sky and look like fried chicken.
He thought he'd better make this quick, or else he'd be a resident with his sister.
He looked for around a couple of seconds and then spotted Uranus. With his size, he's impossible to miss from above. His head and shoulders poked out from above the trees.
He flew down, but halfway he lost control  and tumbled to the ground like a cat flailing to grab some yarn.
He landed with a thud as the impact nearly breaking every bone in his body. He stood up, which looked like he was a slice of jello. He attempted to walk and find Zonë for an update of the execration spell, but he felt like his body was in shock.
He called out to Zonë, but he doubted she could hear him.
Then, Percy and Annabeth ran round a tree and spotted Jason as a heap on the dirt floor.
'Jason, you okay?' Percy asked.
'Do I look okay?'
'He has a point.' Percy whispered to Annabeth.
She rolled her eyes in annoyance.
Together they heaved Jason up and helped him stand. When he could stand on his own, Annabeth suggested that they would look for the witch.
'She has an emerald staff. She is yea high, brown Cleopatra-style hair and an egyptian dress.' Jason described.
'And she is a witch?' Percy asked. 'Cool!'
Annabeth rolled her head back in frustration.
'Go find her. I'll be here. Waiting. Alone. By myself. With no one. Alone.' Jason said looking around.
The couple ran off in search for the Eldritch Queen.
Why is she called Eldritch? She isn't even sinister. Jason asked himself.
He was thinking about Zonë and the first time they met, when she gave Jason a scroll. Then he thought immediately to Leo. Is Leo still alive? Is he still merged with Vulcan? Is he even still fighting? These thoughts bobbed around in his head.
He was still pondering his thoughts when Annabeth came running around the corner. At his side, Zonë was holding her staff with her Egyptian dress with emeralds and stones embroidered within, and a gold belt was strapped around her this waist.
'I heard you want to modernise on the spell. Well, you see, there's more to Uranus than you let on. Yes, he's a god. Yes he was the king of the cosmos. Yes, he was evil. But have you ever considered-'
'More ching-ching and less bling-bling.' Jason interrupted.
'Right sorry. Basically, Uranus was created by Gaia, the earth goddess. He wasn't born like us regular mortals and demigods and magicians. He was simply imagined. It was like a 'think-'n'-earn' scenario, you know what I mean? He wasn't born the same, making him differ from most of the other gods. His execration may either be easy or hard, depending on the scenario.' Zonë updated.
'That's not very blunt.' Annabeth whispered.
'I don't think that was the ching-ching but it was close enough. Anyway, in this case, would his execration be easy or hard.' Jason asked.
Zonë tilted her head.
'Of course. Hard.'
She nodded. 'Then we'd better get our move on. We don't have time.'
You have failed me. Lupa's voice rang in his head. You cannot complete this feat alone.
Alone. Jason's plan is to execrate Uranus and then exile him to Tartarus. And he's not doing this alone. He had Percy, Annabeth and Zonë.
'The only way to execrate Uranus is if we capture him, leaving no choice to escape. Oh, and one minor problem: Execration spells only work on Egyptian gods if your not careful.'
'What do you mean?' Annabeth asked.
'EGYPTIAN gods?' Percy exclaimed.
'If the caster words a spell wrong, it could possibly kill them. But if this feat is attempted on a non-Egyptian organism, it could kill everyone in a five mile radius, excluding mortals. The caster would be sentenced to the depths of the Duat for all of their, er, life in the Underworld.'
'Duat?' Annabeth's curiosity kicked in.
'It's the Egyptian realm of the dead.' Zonë replied with her same calm voice.
'And?' Jason pushed.
'I must master this spell, and this would take a couple of hours, four at most.'
'Well hurry up then!' Jason rushed Zonë. 'We don't have all day.'
