The next morning there was a council meeting, where all the head councillors from each cabin meet and have a discussion.
'We all know that Jason has a quest to conquer.' Chiron introduced. 'And I figure the deadline will be the Summer Solstice, December the 22. If Hephaestus ordered the quest, the deadline will be the Summer Solstice, when the gods have there meeting.'
'True,' Jake said. 'If my father really did order this quest, the Summer Solstice will be the due date.'
'Yeah, that's true.' Annabeth, the head councillor of the Athena cabin said, 'It all adds up, the deadline is the Summer Solstice, which is in-'
'Six days.' Jason said. 'The deadline is in six days.'
Chiron looked mused. 'That settles it. The deadline is in seven days, so you better pick wisely Jason, and leave now.'
'Alright. Let me think-'
'Now, remember?' Chiron interrupted.
'Fine.' He said. 'Umm, I could use Jake.'
'Me? Why?' Jake said, head councillor of the Hephaestus cabin, the guy he met in Rachel's cave.
'The ghost of fire with deal and cage.' Jason said, 'sounds like something you could deal with, and plus your strong.'
'Boring!' My. D shouted as he looked at his magazine. 'Sorry, it was the magazine.'
'Okay, Just checking.' Jake smiled, ignoring Mr. D.
'And?' Chiron pushed.
'And, er, Austin Lake.'
'Okay!' Chiron shouted. 'That clears that up. But firstly, Jake, do you want to go?'
'I'm ready for duty!' Jake said like one of those air commanders.
'Good. Drew, can you go get Austin. He should be doing canoeing now.'
'Ugh!' Drew, the head councillor of the Aphrodite cabin when Piper is away, moaned as she walked out the door. When Drew got back, she yelled, 'Austin's drowning!'
They all scurried out the door in one heap. As They ran towards Long Island Sound, an arrow impaled itself right in front of Jason's feet from the Archery Range and he jumped over it, in a hurry to get to the lake. Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon and head councillor grabbed at him, 'Fly me over there and I can rescue him!' He shouted.
'You sure?' Jason asked.
'Yes!' Now hurry!'
Jason wrapped his right arm around Percy and started to fly over to the lake. When they arrived, Percy jumped off mid-air and landed in the lake. Jason wasn't sure what happed. He was gone a long time. Then, miraculously, Percy popped his head out of the water, controlled the waves to propel him to shore with an unconscious demigod in his arms.
As he got to shore, the other head councillors and Chiron and Mr. D arrived.
Percy pulled up the banks when Will Solace, head councillor of the Apollo cabin, and Jason ran to Austin's aid.
'So...' Percy said.
'Will he be alright to go on the quest?' Jason asked. The others gathered around.
'He needs to rest. He probably has pneumonia or something.' Will responded. 'I'll bring him to the sick bay to rest. Now Jason, you need to choose a new member for the quest.'
'Well, who is it going to be, young hero?' Chiron asked.
'Well,' Jason paused. 'I choose Clarisse La Rue.'
Clarisse yelled over at Jason, 'I accept, but never call me by my first and last name, Punk!'
