Chapter 22: Identity

Flora's Point Of View

We were glad that we made it to the academy at such time. Excited na excited na kami ni Eloisa na makita ang mga ekspresyon ng mukha ng tatlo sa oras na makira nila kami. Maaga naman kaming nakarating sa academy. Pinatuloy kami ni Mr. Marquis sa office nito at mayroon doong nakahandang iba't ibang putahe. Sinabi nito sa amin na mayroong magaganap na duelo sa pagitan ng dalawang magagaling na estudyante ng academy na siyang ipinagtaka namin dahil sa awarding ceremony ng top students ngayon. Dahil sa narinig ay itinanong namin kung bakit mayroong tournament sa araw na kasabay ng awarding ceremony. Doon namin nalaman na nai-move ang ceremony kahapon And the top student was not among the three but a transfer student from Kou Empire! He was Tyler Aeker a third-year magician. And he was participating in a duel between another student. We decided to go back to PGA pero Mr. Marquis insisted that we should stay and watch the fight at saka bumalik sa academy pagkatapos iyong panoorin. Ayaw na talaga naming magstay sa acaddemy ng mas matagal pa because the academy gives off a strange scary vibe. But Mr. Marquis was persistent kaya wala kaming nagawa ni Eloisa kung hindi ang panoorin muna ang match.

We sat on the highest peak of the coliseum kung saan nanonood ang ibang faculty ng Kambala Academy. Ipinakilala naman kami ni Mr. Marquis sa mga ito kaya nawala ang awkward atmosphere.  Nang magpunta kami sa coliseum ay konti pa ang estudyante, sa tingin ko ay trenta minutos pa ang lumipas bago pa napuno ng mga estudyanteng manonood ang coliseum. Habang hindi pa nagsisimula ang match ay tinawagan ni Eloisa ang boys pero hindi nila sinasagot ang mga cellphone nila. And we decided to take a selfie with the coliseum grounds behind us, and through messenger ay isinend ko ang litrato namin kay Tyke para manotify at maging aware sila na nasa academy kami ni Eloisa.

 And when finally, the match started, we was shocked after we knew who will be Tyler's foe. It was Zack. We were worried sa kung ano ang mangyayari kay Zack lalo na at nasa kanya ang magic tool na galing kay Ms. Olivia. We heard that its goal is to stop a person from using his or her grace but as an after effect, your magoi usage will be blocked meaning you'll be greatly weakened. 

But all those horrible and negative thoughts were replaced positively when the match started. Tyler doesn't outdo him at all. He's fighting at the same level with Tyler. But his foe was simply negating all of his attacks by using the opposite element at the same level of output. Even his signature attack won't work but he didn't give up. And as we are approaching the climax of the match. Zack nearly died when Tyler launched that powerful aberrant magic at Zack. He used up all of his magoi at strengthening his borg and we thought that Zack would end there but he still has tricks up his sleeve. He used his ace-in-the-hole spell Resonating Staff and as expected he was able to turn the table around. He was on the verge of winning when the conflict happened.

Tyler's staff tore off Zack's sleeve and the bandage on his arm with the magic tool. And the magic tool was supposed to be a huge secret. Pero mas nagulat kami noong natanggal ang sleeve ng cloak ni Tyler. In his wrist, was a stone similar to Zack yet it was circular. Nagulat naman ang dalawa sa nakita. Bumaling ako kay Mr. Marquis at ibang faculty but it was such a relief na nag-uusap sila kaya hindi nila nakita ang nangyari. Tyler launched one of his aberrant magic at saktong itinigil na ni Mr. Marquis ang laban. It ended in a draw. 

Napangiti naman kami ni Eloisa nang makitang gustong makipag-kaibigan ni Zack kay Tyler. But that smile shortlived nang makita naming pinagtangkaan ni Tyler si Zack. Zack was alert and he threw up a borg but with few magoi left, it wasn't sturdy enough kaya sa oras na bumagsak siya sa lupa mula sa pagkakatilapon niya ay agad na nasira ang borg. Eloisa and I were alert kaya naman agad kaming nakaresponde kasama nina Mr. Marquis. 

Zack had a minor wound on his head. Tyler was suspended for a week and Zack was transferred to his dorm after treating him with first aid in the infirmary. Nandoon kami hanggang alas siyete ng gabi nagbabantay kay Zack, but he still hasn't regained his consciousness kaya naman napagdesisyonan namin ni Eloisa na sumulat na lang at bumalik na sa PGA.
