'Who was that guy you were on the phone with in the bathroom while lunch?' Maddie asks after the last schoolday ever in sophomore year, on our way home.

'How do you know I was talking to someone in the bathroom at lunch?' I ask, frowning at her.
'I wanted to tell you about David, and then I saw found you in the bathroom. I kind of eavesdropped and heard you were talking to some Harry. Who's Harry? Wait, were you talking to Harry from One Direction?'

'No, of course I wasn't talking to Harry from One Direction. I was talking to another Harry. One with another surname.' I answer.
'What's his surname?' Maddie asks.
'What?' I ask, even though I heard the question.
'His surname.' Maddie repeats.
'Um, Potter.' I answer. It was the first surname that came into my mind, dunno why. Maddie grins.

'So what, you're a wizard now? Have you received your Hogwarts letter yet?' She asks, finding herself incredibly funny.
'What?' I ask, not getting the joke.
'Come on, Liv. Harry Potter, are you kidding me? You must be joking.' Maddie answers.
'What's wrong with Harry Po- oh.' I mumble when I realize.

'So, who is he? Because I can tell by the look on your face that you're crushing on him. Is it the One Direction Harry?' Maddie asks.
'No, it's not him! And I'm not crushing on him. That's disgusting.' I deny strictly.
'Oh my god, it's Harry Styles.' Maddie says. It's not a question.

'That is the same person, and it's still not him.' I answer.
'If it weren't him, why wouldn't you tell me who you were talking to! How many Harrys do you know?' Maddie asks.
'One.' I answer without thinking.

'Thank you. So, do you like him?' Maddie asks.
'Who are you even talking about? I never said I was talking to a guy named Harry.' I say.
'You're such an arrogant son of a bitch, Harry. I'm hanging up now; and; I was talking to another Harry, one with another surname.' Maddie says, trying to imitate my voice.

'So, what did David say?' I ask.
'You won't get away with this so easily, Liv, but I'm dying to tell you about David, so I'll get right back to you after I'm done talking. Okay, don't scream, but we're official. David's my boyfriend.' Maddie tells.

'Oh my god, really? Have you kissed? But you didn't even go on a date.' I say.
'Yes, but he and I just... knew. And yes! He kissed me. It was short, since he had to go to his locker, but it was the best kiss I've ever had in my entire life. Now that I've kissed David, I see how bad the other guys were.' Maddie tells. She seems so happy, her cheeks are red of excitement and I've never seen her smile so big.

'At least you had other guys.' I say jokingly, since I've never kissed a boy before.
'Aw, honey. I know someone who'd like to kiss you, though.' Maddie says.
'Who in the actual world?' I ask, full of unbelief.
'Well, I don't know if you've ever heard of him. His name may be familiar to you, but I'm not sure. His name is Harry Styles. have you ever heard of him?' Maddie tells. Of course she was bluffing about a guy wanting to kiss me. It's Maddie.

'No. Who is he?' I answer sarcastically.
'Olivia, do you like Harry?' Maddie asks, staring into my eyes as if she's staring into my soul.

'Nope. We're just friends' I answer.
'You're lying. You filthy little bitch, you're lying so hard!' Maddie calls out.
'Why would I like him? I barely talk to him.' I answer.
'You never called anyone while you were at school. This was the first time.' Maddie remarks. I'm about to answer, but my phone makes the text message sound. I take out my phone, only to get it torn out of my hand by Maddie.

'Excuse me, Mads?' I call out.
'Why is this Harry Styles dude texting you? I thought you barely talked to him. Oh, an audio message, exciting.' Maddie says.

'You don't understand! He told me while we were on the phone he would send me an audio message of their first song, because Louis won't let me hear it.' I tell.
'So you were talking to Harry from One Direction at lunch! babe, I know you don't want to see it, but you're crushing on him. Trust me, I know.' Maddie says. I snatch my phone out of her hands.

'Why do you keep saying that?' I mutter, turning my phone off.
'Because you're acting the exact same way as you did when you had a crush on Max Fischer.' Maddie answers. I pull my face into a disgusted frown.

'Ew, why you have to bring up Max Fischer? He's disgusting.' I say.
'That's not the point. The point is that you acted different back then. You were on the phone with him at the most random moments and you texted him every day. And when I overheard one of your phone calls with him, you made up another stupid surname for Max too. Plus, you denied everything at first and admitted it when you were already over him. So, what I'm saying is that you have a crush on Harry.' Maddie tells.

'So, Malibu, we haven't talked about that yet, have we? Actually, I gotta run. I have to unpack my summer clothes.' I say before accelerating my walk.
'Okay, I'm coming with.' Maddie answers, also accelerating her walk to keep up with me. I sigh deeply and look at her.

'Are you being serious right now? Why don't you hang out with David?' I say then.
'David is meeting up with his football team for the last time before summer right now, and I wanna see if I can borrow something of your summer closet.' Maddie tells.

'Okay, Mads, you can come with on one condition. Stop talking about this Harry guy you're obsessing over.' I speak.
'Alright, done. That doesn't mean you don't have a crush on him, though.' Maddie answers.
'I'm gonna repeat it one more time; stop talking about Harry.' I say strictly.
'Okay, sorry.' Maddie answers.
